Noticed my shipping rate dropped to 88% due to no tracking numbers on two packages shipped 30 September, This caused no star badge for October. Checked today at USPS, shows tracking number and movement of packages. The package was scanned at local post office at 9:55 AM. This has never happened before. This is an issue with this third-party verifier checking for legitimate tracking numbers. This is causing us small shop owner's unneeded stress on issues that are out of our control. Talked to Etsy support this morning, they said what 24 hours for update on tracking numbers. Thats fine, so when you update tomorrow, and it shows legitimate tracking on those two packages are you going to update me to star seller for October? Like i said before this has never been a issue before!!! Etsy please check this issue. Maybe your verifier wait 24 hours before checking for valid tracking number. This is so frustrating.
@SewCuteDesignsByRita : First, you may have entered the dreaded time zone trap. September 30 to you may be October 1 to Etsy. Secondly, looking at other posts in this forum it seems that the last few days of a month routinely get rolled into the next month when doing Star Seller calculations.
Our experience is that a day or two after the package has been scanned the CSV file and order correctly shows tracking and shipment status.
Probably almost everyone on this forum can sympathize with you but unfortunately, Etsy had made it clear that they will not manually adjust Star Seller data.
I would just add more days to my production times to avoid this.

Wanna feel better Sewcute? I hand delivered a bag to a customer who lived nearby. No tracking number, lost star seller for the month......thanks ETSY!
@GothamBBC Afraid it was your fault for hand delivering. Etsy explains this in the rules about the star seller. Tracking is needed to verify you actually shipped the item. Hand delivering does not include that assurance.
I feel your pain. I had a customer pick up an order yesterday and I used ETSY'S OWN pull down menu to select "local pickup" in the shipping box. Now today I'm dinged in the SSP for that. It was okay for Etsy to take a fee for the order, but they can't come up with a solution for that situation? Seriously. And why do they think it is okay to judge my shop on that issue but not offer a solution? Etsy chat told me to come to the forums for advice (insert eye roll).
There is a solution that's been offered many times here in the forums. Send the buyer a receipt using a FC letter rate 'stamp' through Etsy labels. It will cost you about $.57 and you have to print the label, but if you truly care about the badge I would assume it's worth that.
@GothamBBC: Many of the people in this forum can sympathize with your situation, but if you have not yet done so you might want to read https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000338067-How-to-Offer-Local-Pickup-or-Delivery?segment=s...
Will local pickup orders be part of my evaluation for a Star Seller badge?
All physical listing orders must include a valid tracking number or a shipping label purchased on Etsy to be considered for a Star Seller badge. At this time, we’re unable to make exceptions for local pickup orders.
This also applies to delivery orders.
A little late to learn I could have avoided the issue. ETSY ought to be easier to work with on these issues. I appreciate the input.....
The last day of the program can have items appear in the next month's stats.
Have your items shown tracking? Scanned in within your processing time frame?
If so wait 24 hours to see if the stats self-correct. Sometimes they do.
While it would be nice if they do, they may not. Try not to keep your hopes up. But you probably will get it in November.
You have the other two badges which shows. The presence or absence of will not affect buyers. Just keep on with your good customer service.
The simple fact that ETSY designs the system, administrates the system, sees the faults, feels our pain and right in our faces, refuses to make ANY adjustments in order to satisfy everyone's hard work. Just like lifting a middle finger to the folks that generate revenue......very sad.
