Old reviews affecting today's average rating calculation

A customer placed order for 4 products on Dec 6, 2023 and package was delivered to them on Dec 15, 2023. After 3 months, they have decided to make public reviews for all of them, all positive comments that praises our products. But stars were randomly selected as; "5,4,4,2". So, they don't reply to our messages and we may lose our Star Seller badge at the end of this month.

So;

Current review period for next month's Star Seller badge is January 1–March 31, 2024. My service to this customer was 3 months ago (Dec 2023). Even if let's say they were not happy with the service and fairly gave 2 stars reviews, they shouldn't affect the calculation of average ratings for January 1–March 31, 2024 period just because buyer made those reviews 3 months later. We are hopeless about this situation and seeking help.

Re: Old reviews affecting today's average rating calculation

etsy allows 100 days for reviews to be left, and they are counted when they are left, not when the item was posted.

Otherwise, if they left reviews after 3 months, they wouldn't be counted at all, good or bad.

It's the way it works.

Re: Old reviews affecting today's average rating calculation

I wouldn't worry about it at this point in time. You have the rest of the month left where you could receive reviews that over-ride that one negative rating. I too don't understand how a customer can be happy with something and give it a 2-star review. Sometimes I think the issue may be problems with using these phone apps. But who knows. Will keep my fingers crossed that you get lots of 5-star reviews and wipe the negative one out!
