I've just downloaded and checked my tracking stats for my star seller sales as they are lower than what I was expecting. On further investigation I have discovered that three of my sales have been recorded as not tracked and over the £10 threshold. These sales were all purchases made when I was running a clearance sale and therefore the total sale was discounted. An example of one sale was the total £18.00, before discount was applied, the buyer actually only paid £9.00 after discount. Therefore making the sale under the tracking threshold. I have three orders in total that have all been recorded on the total before the discount which isn't a true reflection in the stats and reducing my tracking %. Is this a blip in the system?
Yup, the £10 "order" threshold for tracking is item price before discounts.
The star seller criteria says you must have tracking for orders of $10 OR buy an Etsy label.
I understand that but these orders were under £10, so didn't need tracking. The stats are not taken on the final value of the sale but the value before the discount. The seller didn't pay over £10 so why do i need tracking?
@TheJewelleryPantry: "Therefore making the sale under the tracking threshold." The tracking threshold is determined by Etsy as "We use the total value of the items purchased before any discounts, not including shipping and taxes." {Emphasis Added} https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/4403058372503-How-to-Become-a-Star-Seller?segment=selling

Thank you for your help, not sure i agree with that rule though.
You don't have to buy tracking if you are in the UK, for star seller
If you buy 1st or second class, not tracked, labels through etsy, they have the QR code, and that counts
and if you buy Royal mail click and drop, the QR code on there counts too - which is what I use, I don't send anything tracked in UK, and all my items (apart from digital) are over £20
