Hello everyone, I opened a store on August 14 and only made 24 sales. Most of these sales are new products. No one looks at my old products and does not buy them, what should I do for this?
25 sales since August is excellent. Right now people are shopping for the holidays.
Thank you
it is a huge misconception that sales come quickly on etsy or to get sales you just need to open a shop and add some listings. as you have found out, it just does not work this way. most shops take weeks, months, or even years to get regular consistent sales. i think sites like tiktok make folks think once you open a shop the money automatically starts rolling in. i’m guessing they get paid for those beloved clicks and they’ve never actually sustained a business on etsy, but this is just a guess…
You've had fantastic sales so far. And if you have only been in business since August, you have no such thing as old listings. It can take years for a specific item to sell after being listed. The right person has to come along.
what is interesting to me is that there are buyers for the products. I added recently, but there are no buyers for the old products. I also tried hard for old products. Anyway, i will wait
I browsed your shop and didn’t buy anything
You’re asking what you should do, without any important details, to help someone try to help you make that assessment
Also, your shop announcement is confusing. Good luck.
First of all, I apologize for not making great designs lol
Thank you for your criticism. Good work!
@MAFHandmade: New shops seem to get a temporary boost as Etsy works to figure out the listings and how buyers will react to them. Despite the many "I make a $1,000,000 a year on Etsy and don't have to do any work" YouTube videos, the reality is that you have to market your own shop (social media, etc) and generate your own traffic and sales. You cannot rely solely on Etsy search particularly until your shop and your listings have a significant sales history.
Actually, I dont think I got support because I dont have any money in my bank account since I opened my account. Reserved now. Maybe that'S why I use tiktok and pinterest. Many thanks for your feedback
This is not a technical issue.
Customers may be suspicious of your "older" items because some appear to contain intellectual property infringing images (Example: Harley Davidson, Iron Man, Pikachu, Smiley Face, Groot). Upload proof of legal licensing.
Thank you very much, here's a different perspective! I'll try to fix the license
I looked at your deer light. It says download, reads like it's some kind of file but ... one of the four photos show me a physical lamp-like device that is '50% off' and the video is the assembly of (I'm assuming) said light. I'm confused.
I sell digital products here. Therefore, images downloaded in DXF, SVG, CDR, Ai, PDF formats are made suitable for cutting on a laser cuttingg machine or a different machine. My native language is not English so I dont understand what you mean by %50.
There is a lot of competition for svg files, and 25 sales in a few months is actually very good for a new shop. I looked at your Christmas tree light file, and the title and description both say the file is personalized, but I couldn't figure out where the personalization comes in.
Thank you so much, If the customer wants to add an "text" I will also email the file after purchase.
I tend to sell whatever is near the top of my home page. When something sells, it goes back to the top of the home page and works it's way to the bottom of the page with new products, until it finally falls off as new things sell and new products are added. When I sell something, it is not uncommon to sell 3 or 4 more in a short time.
If you haven't sold something in just a month, I don't consider that old product. Maybe after 6 months if it hasn't sold, I will put it on sale and don't make anymore, since it wasn't selling at the price I needed to get. And continually be trying to come up with new ideas for products. The more products you have, the more you will sell.
I never put more than 20% of my store on sale at the same time. It makes you look desparate or gimmicky, like you just marked up your prices so you could mark them down. Plus, it trains your customers to wait for a sale to buy anything, so you will never sell anything at full price.
I would concentrate on designs for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukah, New Years, etc for now, since that is the next big selling season that is starting now.
I noticed you have one product for $1.00. Can you really make anything on that? Even if it is a digital file, your costs are $.55, leaving you a profit of only $.45 for your labor if no ads were involved.
What you say is very valuable to me, thank you very much for your writing. The 1$ item is obviously "if I lower the price, will they buy it?" I thought, there are many vendors in SVG format and the prices are very low, Im checking to see if I'm updating the price and ranking higher. Im trying to understand the system... I will take info account what you have said.
