Not receiving Etsy emails

Is anyone else not receiving any Etsy emails? I usually get an email very time I make a sale, receive a message etc - always have done for the 6 years I've been here. Now all of a sudden I'm not getting any emails despite making sales and receiving messages. I've checked that I haven't been hacked and my email address is still the same. Have also obviously checked the obvious things like them ending up in junk etc but there's nothing. 

Just wondered if this was an Etsy issue and anyone else was also having the same?

Other sellers have reported not receiving the Etsy notification emails for sales or messages in the past. I would contact Etsy and let them know, so they can check it from their end.

And just how would someone contact Etsy? I just looked, for a while, and did not find a way to contact them, list after list of irrelevant issues/questions. And they specifically say they don't have a customer service phone number(!).

It's an Etsy issue that has been going on for years. I currently get about half of mine. It's hit or miss. Don't bother with Etsy support, They will just give you canned answers about checking the obvious possible causes.  Believe me, I have tried. Just stop relying on the emails and check your shop more often.

I 100% agree with @bearpawrustics - in the past I've had emails stop, then start, then random missing, then stop - most recently everything is coming through - knock wood.  Nothing had changed on my end, and I continued to get other Etsy generated emails.  Went through Etsy Support suggestions, to no avail.  Just be sure to check your shop once a day.

Had a sale this morning, never got a notification at all, though there was an email.  First time it's ever happened. I may need to possibly update my app on my phone, that may work.

I have customers saying they aren't getting emails with their purchases, which is a serious issue when they check out as a guest.

I’ve spoken to Etsy support who said my email address was blocked from their provider for some unknown reason. They have unblocked it apparently but I’m still not getting new order emails and message emails are intermittent. The email asking me to review their support came through fine though…. 🤦🏻‍

@TattyandB   Talk to your email provider.  It sounds like they are the ones that are blocking.  Email providers are known to change parameters and sometimes this removes things that ordinarily went through before.

It's not always Etsy.

@ArtDollsbyJD - As I said, Etsy themselves confirmed it was an issue on their end - their email provider had blocked my email address. No explanation as to why and as soon as Etsy support unblocked it I started receiving intermittent emails straight away. It was definitely Etsy. 

Most emails are now coming through but not all, it's very hit and miss. This may not be an issue for some but when you need to access CSV and order item files to complete spreadsheets for VAT returns it becomes a massive headache when you haven't received the email containing the file link.

This has been a known issue  for almost 6 years. It has always been an Etsy error, not the email provider. 

Years ago Etsy would send 100's of Etsy shop owners on a wild goose chase -- insisting it was the individual shop owners providers and not Etsy.

It is a small positive step in the right direction that Etsy is acknowledging the issue is on their end.

Unfortunately, this error can currently factor into destroying the Message Response Rate and Star Seller status.

i think you’ve misunderstood what my issue was. I was receiving messages on Etsy from customers fine. It was Etsy emails that suddenly stopped. 
This didn’t affect my star seller as I didn’t have any missing messages on Etsy itself, this was an email issue. I have full star seller so no effect on my badges, as I said it was purely the emails coming from Etsy that I would usually have had without fail that was the problem. If you rely on looking at emails to tell you someone has messaged you, yes you would have an issue. I’m in my shop daily so this wasn’t the issue.

@TattyandB: At least some of Etsy's eMail servers appear to be misconfigured - some receiving eMail servers attempt to validate the eMail and we have seen (and it has been confirmed by others) that some of Etsy's servers sometimes report (incorrectly) that the sender is not valid. If a receiving server receives this 'not a valid sender' response they will most probably discard the eMail without the recipient being aware of its existence (does not even make it to spam folder, etc).

Same here, since 4 days I don't receive all transaction mails anymore.

Etsy emails have been inconsistent for years.

I find this more annoying as a buyer than as a seller.

Mine have always been consistent so the sudden stop is what caught my attention. 

May not be an issue for some people but when you need CSV and order item file download links that are only sent in an email from etsy it becomes a huge issue. I don't think HMRC (UK tax office) will take the excuse of Etsy being inconsistent as a valid reason why my VAT return was late unfortunately.

I'm having the same issue How did you get this fixed?  I have put in a case & contacted my service provider and it's definitely not on my end.  I also need to access CSV and order item files to complete spreadsheets for tax returns.

Hi, I contacted Etsy support who said my email address had been blocked by their provider. No explanation as to why but once I’d answered some security questions they unblocked it and they started coming through again. 

I wouldn’t say it was fixed entirely as I have noticed not every email comes through as they used to, there are definitely some missing. I would contact Etsy via chat.
