Please let this be a fixable bug: Someone just added one of my items to her favorites list, so, of course I had to check it out. Imagine my surprise when I saw that I now accept exchanges??! WTH? My policy is returns only….everywhere. This won’t end well.
@CarpetCollectionAU I'm sure it's there. I'm doing minimal clicking because the last time I clicked on a seller's item that had an issue with her shop I ended up getting a coupon code side bar glitch. I've had it since November 3rd.
@SugarTaffySoap @I know this reply wasn’t meant for me, but god, this place is such a mess!
@SugarTaffySoap I have just got used to x-ing out those "pop-ups' / "slide-ins" but I agree. They are more resilient than Cockroaches
@SugarTaffySoap You do not have to click on anyone elses' Listings. Just find a "Favorited" Listing in your own Shop that appears on both the General Favorites and Collections Pages.
If you compare the two, you will see what we are reporting.
@DivineCrossings (and everyone else) Can anyone recall seeing such detailed information under a Thumbnail prior to this time?
The information under a Thumbnail in Favorites Collections is much more detailed than the information under a normal Listing or a General Favorite.
It looks like, for some reason, the Programmers have done something to Listing presentation for Collections. Who knows what? And who knows when and why?
@CarpetCollectionAU @No, I don’t remember ever seeing all that info crammed under photos. But, most items favorited from my shop usually land in a person’s general favorites so I rarely have a chance to see my stuff in a collection.
I'd hate to find out that someone purchased an item based on the possibility of exchange. As I mentioned in a prior post, it’s just as easy for someone to return something, get a refund and then purchase a preferred item. Certainly makes it easier for sellers.
@DivineCrossings I have also never seen the detailed / expanded information under Thumbnails before. But it is very clear that the information shown for a General Favorite is briefer than that shown for a Favorite in Collections. But, more importantly, that information in Collections is incorrect.
I, too, would not like a Buyer to think they could Exchange any of my OOAK items. Apart from the unmanageable logistics of processing an Exchange, it is just not possible as I never have 2 of anything and pricing varies too.
@CarpetCollectionAU @And my reasons are the same as yours…OOAK with varying prices, plus it’s a logistical PITA! “Return only” is also easier for bookkeeping (especially for the numerically-challenged like me lol).
@CarpetCollectionAU I don't have > General Favorites and Collections Pages
@SugarTaffySoap Please forgive me if I am telling you something you already know, but, perhaps, this may assist.
Find a Favorited Listing in your Shop
Click on the Buyer's Name
This will take you to the Favorites Page for that Person
Find your own Listing
Look to see if this Buyer has "Collections" set up at the top of the Favorited Page
Find your own Listing in the Collection.
Compare the presentation of the same Listing on the General Favorited Page and on the Collections Page.
@CarpetCollectionAU I just followed your instructions and my item was in one of the potential buyer's collections and when I clicked on it and it did indeed say exchanges accepted when I do not accept exchanges. I checked the listing and it just says returns accepted.
@CarpetCollectionAU Ah ok. I don't accept returns or exchanges so when I clicked on my listing in their favorites it says the same thing there.
@SugarTaffySoap Yes, but you need to find a Buyer wiith Collections and check the same Listing in Collections . That is where the error is showing
Quick update….I had filed a ticket via email over the weekend. I received an email today indicating that Etsy may be looking into it. In fact, someone at Etsy (seller account with an orange E attached) added one of my items to a favorites/collection category he/she named “test”…and the same thing happened - “exchanges accepted”. So hopefully they’re investigating. Fingers crossed.
WOW! Thanks for the good news. Someone at Etsy who actually understood the issue and took the time to "test" to see if they could replicate it. Now that is "progress".
I have not had a response to my Ticket as of this time, but I sent it much later that you did.
@CarpetCollectionAU @I also sent them a link to this thread so that they know it’s happening to other sellers, as well.
Hello all, we shared your reports here with our engineers. We can confirm this is not a bug, and that this information is not showing for the majority of buyers who may view your listing in a Collection.
If buyers are reporting seeing exchanges on the listing card and you do not in fact accept exchanges, this is due to a cookie issue. Clearing their browser cookies will resolve it. You can find more information on how to do this here.
