New to Print-on-Demand with Printify on Etsy - Need Guidance After Receiving My First Order!

Hello fellow Etsy sellers!

I've recently ventured into the world of print-on-demand and have set up my Etsy store linked with Printify. I'm thrilled to share that I've just received my first order! However, being new to this business model, I'm a bit unsure about the next steps I should take to ensure a smooth process for my customers and myself.

Could any experienced sellers who use Printify with Etsy guide me on what actions I should take post-receiving an order? Any tips, best practices, or potential pitfalls to watch out for would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your help and advice. Looking forward to learning from this amazing community!

Warm regards,

Henry, CherishedSelfLove

You should go to your dashboard on Printiful or whichever POD platforms you are using and double check that the order is showing up on their end.  Also make sure the customer's address is correct, etc. etc.  And most importantly, double check the status of the order (i.e. is it awaiting payment from you; is it "in production" etc etc. )  Unfortunately, just because the POD platform claims to be "integrated" with Etsy does not mean that the order processes are fully synced.

@CherishedSelfLove  Congratulations. Good luck. You need to add your production partner to your shop. https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000336547-Working-with-Production-Partners-on-Etsy

Be sure to read up in the Sellers Handbook on what mockup, stock images you can use for Printify and that you are following Etsy's policy. You don't want to get the bot to visit your shop during the busiest season of the year and wreak havoc, or you'll be crushed like many others. Bots don't have emotions so just do the right thing.

Be sure to read Announcements in the forums from time to time for updates. Right now there's a lot of confusion about Printify and what can be sold on Etsy's marketplace. One can only hope an Announcement will be forthcoming.
