I'm trying to put an item up for sale. When I write the name of the product, it remains in a red frame. At the bottom of the frame it is written that the following characters are not allowed in the title: $ ^ `. I don't have them in the title, but the frame remains red. What to do?

You want to create a sale for only 1 item? That has nothing to do with the new listing form. Create a sale just like you always have then select the listing.

Etsy won't let me create a listing for sale. Doesn’t let through the name of the product, supposedly there are prohibited characters, there are no characters in the name at all. Only words

@HoneyQueenBee: From the standpoint of this error, each word in your title is composed of individual characters. An invalid character can be many things, a leading space, a tab, etc. If you copy and pasted the title (depending on your operating system and source) you may be pasting in invisible invalid characters.

Is there a space at the very front of your title? Check that. Probably what is causing the issue.
