I have no any idea what happened. Just like that. I was asked by my customer if it is true that I am on vacation. That's how I found out.
The shop was put in Vacation mode, and suspended. I received no explanation or any communication whatsoever.
I have been a star seller for many months. How is it even possible? Seriously, when you rely so much on Etsy and trust it for so many years, how can this practice be tolerated?
I am really in shock and don't know what to do.
I submitted an appeal but I even don't know what I am appealing.
Hello,
As the OP's shop is back up and running (as well as other members' shops who posted here), we'll be closing this thread. Thanks!
It might have something to do with the "Inform act" where Etsy needs a photo ID or more bank account info.
Look on your finance page and see if there's anything there you need to update.
It says on the announcement that sellers should get an email (but I've read a lot of sellers aren't getting that email).
It also states you'd have 10 days to upload the info but that isn't happening either based on a lot of forum posts.
Sellers get an email then within a day or hours, their shop is put on vacay.

Thank you, there is NOTHING in my account , including in Finance settings that would ask for any document. I have just recently gone through bank verifications. There is no message, no flag, nothing. Just this message
"Your shop will stay in Vacation Mode while we review your info
This means you won't be able to receive new orders until we finish verifying your info (which usually takes up to 48 hours after you uploaded your document). No need to do anything else right now—we'll reach out if we need more details from you."
What information ? I was not asked to submit any information. I did not provide any information. What on Earth is going on with Etsy?! They are also losing money of this stupidity, aren't they?
@TrufflesAndCreams They need business information. Name, address, phone number, etc. LLC information. All for the Inform Act.
Etsy will check to see if they have all the approriate information needed. My understanding is this information will be reviewed every year for shops that sell at a certain level as required by the Act.
Go to your dashboard. Do you see a banner that says “you have x amount of days to update” your information?
@TrufflesAndCreams
The same thing happened to me on Friday. Here’s the thread. I hope it’s helpful:
https://community.etsy.com/t5/Managing-Your-Shop/ETSY-put-my-shop-on-vacation/m-p/143491410#M1620512
Don't know how to attach a snapshot here. There is NOTHING other than vacation mode notification. I 've checked all settings, double checked finance settings. All documents have been verified. There is NOTHING!
Exact same thing happened to me. No warning, no email, no explanation nothing! I did manage to get customer service to call me back. They told me this is happening to many accounts and a specialist will review my account and get back to me via email and if they need any ID or bank acc verification again then they will let me know. He said it doesn’t mean that I’ve done anything wrong on my account. Its just for security purposes. SO STUPID and SO frustrating. I can’t believe they are putting peoples accounts AND funds on hold just like that. I asked how long will it take for support team to review my account and he did not give me a timeframe!! Ugh. For now you need to contact support and just wait for a reply
@TrufflesAndCreams Remove your announcement. You are asking people to visit your website to purchase. If you sell the same product on Etsy, Etsy can see that as fee avoidance. I know that is a major bummer
You will unfortunately have to wait for Etsy to check your information.
@ValentinasCupcakes Etsy has to follow the Inform Act which requires information to be held by Etsy for any shop doing a certain level of business. It's not for security purposes. It's a new Act that started late this year,
This is kind of a grey area so I'm not sure it would be considered fee avoidance? If an item is not for sale on Etsy, there can be no fee avoidance. If Etsy has forced a shop offline, there are no products for sale. This means there is no competing merchandise. But, the moment a shop is reinstated there will be.
Im sure you checked everything, and at the risk of being redundant, you don’t see something like this on the dashboard section of your shop?
“ As Etsy and sellers’ businesses continue to grow, you’ll need to share a bit more info about yourself to meet new regulations. This helps us keep our community safe and create a better experience for buyers. Make sure to confirm your info within _ days, or you won’t get paid for your sales until you complete this request.”
Thank you but I can assure you that I ve checked very carefully all my emails / spam folders / dashboard / finance / legal settings to check for any request to submit documents. All relevant fields in the finance section actually have 'verified' status. I also confirmed my banking details just recently.
Re the announcement and redirecting to my online shop, of course this will be another level of cruelty on etsy part if they consider it as a violation , but we've seen enough absurdity already. I will remove that part. Thank you for your recommendation.
Same here now. Vacation mode. No notice from Etsy. No changes made to any info on my part. I am fully in compliance with all the inform act info since we went through the bank account verification fiasco last year.
submit another support ticket! and then another. don't add to the same ticket. be polite but firm. good luck!
I've heard that if you keep submitting tickets you get pushed to the end of the line again because they consider that a "new" ticket, not pertaining to the same problem. I've always had luck responding to the support email, they usually send one that asks if you still have the problem, and to reply above their message. Then you get a real person.
Same here, I am stuck in vacation mode with no way to contact customer service. I have checked everything over and over again and I have zero missing information. This is insane!
submit support ticket and then another. good luck!
try this, someone suggested to me as I couldn't get hold of customer support after the same issue!
Happened to me this morning. No email, no explanation! WTH is going on……..
I'm stuck in vacation mode as well, right when I was in a really good sales run. No email, no message regarding this from Etsy. I've gone over all of my profile/account info and can't find a solution. And, of course, no way to contact anyone at Etsy. And, I won't be getting the money from those sales until Etsy gets to me.
Firstly, I'm sorry you are in vacation mode and I hope it gets resolved pronto.
Keep escalating it (same ticket).
Secondly, WOW on the shop setup. I often see shops here that I wonder 'are they for real' and your shop info answers all of the questions! Excellent to show a picture of your B&M. The making. etc.
I can almost taste them! Photography rocks too.
My only complaint is that I'm in Fort Worth, TX! But I get up to Indiana often (Purdue grad and have visits with old roommates from time to time) so if I'm in that area (and I often am...) I'm gonna visit.
too delicious!
Go Boilermakers! Hopefully, my son will get admitted and start next year!
All of the kids in my family went there, and we were out of state students!
LOVED that time. My kiddos stayed in Texas. But that's fine.
#BoilerUP
Exact same thing has happened to me today too... it makes no sense and is incredibly stressful/depressing.
keep submitting separate support tickets. they will reinstate soon. many sellers report they are back after 1-2 days.
