My messages have been temporarily disable

Hello,

I am new seller on etsy and running my shop from last 1 month, I got 10 sales so far which is amazing but after that, suddenly I was getting this issue in my account whenever i am trying to send message to my customer

"Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled. Please contact support to have them reactivated."

I raised a ticket to customer support 10 days ago, but didn't receive any response, I even spoke to their customer support over call, they told me that we put your ticket on priority so you will hear soon from us.

Their customer support is really pathetic, they don't respond to ticket on time (really 10 days and no reply??). I was working with fiverr as well but their customer support is brilliant, sometimes they reply in few mins but when it comes to Etsy support, it's really really bad. I hope someone will read this and resolve my ticket asap.

Regards,
Kenneth

Re: My messages have been temporarily disable

@Kennlstudio: "I hope someone will read this and resolve my ticket asap." Even if Etsy Support or the Help Pages sent you here this is a seller peer to peer forum, and should not be considered a way to contact Etsy, if that is your hope (although Etsy does sometimes read and reply to posts).

Often the first response you get from customer support is an automated reply meant to weed out the people who contact support over common issues that can be easily solved. Every eMail from Etsy support should have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive otherwise Etsy will assume that it is resolved. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up.

Not to discount the fact that your messaging may have been disabled in error, generally it is because the system has detected that your account has been sending unsolicited non-transactional messages. While you are waiting for Etsy to reactivate your messaging you may want to read the "Dos and Don'ts of Communicating With Customers" https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/26590492608 There does not appear to be a published time for how long messaging is muted and based on posts in this forum it can vary. Again based on other posts, Etsy does not seem to view support requests based on user violations as a priority.

Re: My messages have been temporarily disable

I completely understand BagmakerSupply, but tell me one thing if you being a seller or buyer on etsy, we sent message to customer support and they will not reply (now it's been more than 14 days) then what we will do?

Also, I didn't send any spam message to anyone but still i am getting the same issue.

"they told me that we put your ticket on priority so you will hear soon from us."

That's Etsy's speak for...we'll get to you never.

No idea if this is the case or not but it seems as if when Etsy does not reply beyond a few canned responses, it's usually because the answer can be found with a bit of a spin through the handbook, forums and even Google.

It's also my understanding that Etsy disables messaging privileges for sending unsolicited messages. Like when someone favorites your item. Or they favorite your shop. Unless a potential buyer has contacted you first, you cannot message them. No idea if that is what happened but it's the #1 culprit when someone comes to the forums to ask about their messages being disabled.

I hope it gets sorted out for you!
