I emailed a tracking # directly to a customer...

I unknowingly compromised my star seller status when I emailed a tracking # to a customer I know and then didn't include the tracking in the completed message. Is there any way to prove this to someone to regain star seller status? Additionally, now all my listings say I need to update the shipping time because I waited until the packages were delivered to mark them completed. Is there any way to deal with that as well?

Star Seller and Etsy's overall quality evaluation of your shop is based on the data you provide them. The shipping information should be entered and the order marked as completed on the day you actually ship. If the day you mark the order as complete is after the scheduled ship by date the order will be considered as shipped late.

 

"... now all my listings say I need to update the shipping time ..." Probably because to Etsy it looks like you are shipping late so often.

Etsy will not go back and adjust things like this. Mark items as complete—with the tracking number—when you take it to the PO or your shipper. 

Now you know. And don't worry, the star seller badge doesn't do much except prevent you rfrom going on potential reserves.

How are you printing shipping labels without it being automatically marked as complete?

I'm actually shocked that you have been waiting until a packaged is delivered before marking it complete. And even more shocked that Etsy hasn't dropped you right into a payment reserve!

eta, nevermind, I see you are POD. Doesn't that also automatically mark an order as complete as soon as it ships?
