When I use the @ symbol to reply to someone in the forums it doesn't work. I was told type a few letters & choose from the dropdown, but no dropdown has ever shown up.
Do I need to "subscribe" to each topic for this to function properly?
Try using a different device.
no @TagTeams . I've just pressed the @ and it came up with a little box with your name in which I clicked on . It usually shows about three names from the thread, but if it's one of the names not showing you want to reply to I always nearly have to type the full name in because lots of different ones come up. Hope I'm explaining this right lol
Mine doesn't work on any Apple devices - the work around is to right click (left click for me as I'm left-handed!) on the name and copy the link to paste after the @. That works just as well.
It is an Apple. MacBook. Do I have a right click? Who knew? :)))
Haha! You know what I mean - the equivalent!
I've done the copy link with the control button but it shows the whole link.
I'll have one of my kids show me (typical in my world) since it still doesn't work.
I'm on a MacBook at the feature works properly for me. Maybe you've got an aggressive pop up blocker?
@TagTeams It's not a topic function. Are you doing it to address someone, and following the instructions here:

As soon as I type the "at" symbol, a list of choices pops up. I don't need to type letters, unless the person is not on the thread.
@CatsWhiskersCurios Interesting. I wasn't aware of that quirk.
Yeah, it's a pain. But no big deal. The workaround is fine.
@CatsWhiskersCurios - I only use Apple devices and it works. Right now I'm using my iMac.
Weird! It doesn't work on my iMac, Macbook, iPhone or iPad! I must be jinxed....
it works fine for me on Chrome,
the translate to english button doesn't, I have to right click for that
but I can't get it to work at all on Microsoft edge, whatever I try
but the Translate to english works there
I don't have the inclination to work out why one works and the other doesn't, so I just use chrome
The translate doesn't work for me at all. I am definitely jinxed.... Ha!
@CatsWhiskersCurios i also use an iphone, ipad, macbook pro, and desktop mac and the @ symbol brought up the list of posters on this thread. and the translate feature works fine for me (if i could insert the shrugging emoticon here, i would, lol!)
This confirms it. I'm 100% jinxed
It sounds like you have an aggressive pop-up blocker. Apple devices have that built in, I believe, and you'd need to deep dive and uncheck the right box. I recall doing that quite awhile ago (years.) That might explain why some us us Apple people have the feature and some do not.
@FallenAngelBrass yes, I assume that's the case. I'll have a look but it's not a big deal. Thank you!
