My Shop Was Closed in Error And I Am Freaking Out

Hello.

I am aware that fellow sellers cannot help me with this matter, but I am desperate, and hoping that someone from Etsy will see this and can fix my current nightmare.

It's now almost 48 hours since, in the middle of printing shipping labels, my shop (not the old one that I'm writing this from) was closed with no reason sent.

I then spent the first 24 hours staring at my phone and waiting to get a response to my panicked service request, where I begged for an explanation, and promised to correct whatever was the unintended infraction, if given the opportunity.

I think I've now spoken to about 9 different people.

And long story short, I was finally told yesterday that my shop was closed in error, and breathed a sigh of relief.

But the nightmare resumed when I realized my shop still said "This seller is not currently selling on Etsy. Click here if you have a problem with your order."

And I still could not log in.

I communicated this. I was told again that it was reinstated. I refreshed a million times then sent screenshots showing that it wasn't active on my end.

The entire chat then disappeared-- I never knew the record of a service request could be deleted. I do still have it in my emails though.

But back to square one.

Another rep said she can see my account is still "under review" and will ensure the matter is prioritized.

I then got an email from another rep with security questions "to restore your account".

I responded like lightning.

Then crickets.

Back to square one.

I was losing my mind wondering what customers would think to see they placed an order and I was "no longer selling".

A little bit of solace in this matter is I figured out I could get their contact info in the transaction emails then message them from this active account to reassure them that I didn't simply run off, and could be contacted here.

So at least no cases will be opened/more problems since the money in my shop's balance was, in fact, deposited today while the shop was closed-- not automatically refunded as I initially thought would have happened.

So I will make sure all my now late orders are shipped one way or the other.

But ... the main issue of having no access to my shop persists.

I no longer have faith in the "correct" channel of opening a ticket. It's not working.

Could someone from Etsy please reach out to me for the current ticket number etc.? Or just look at it here on this account.

I don't think I could survive a full day again of all the emailing.

And I'm not even going to bring up all the business being lost while this is happening, and that all my listings will be at the bottom of the search results barrel whenever they're finally back online.

Please help me out. Somebody. Anybody. I will be forever grateful.

What do they mean that your shop is under review, did they explain? i can see you have 2 custom listings showing, i take it they are yours?

What is the name of your shop that was closed ? what were you selling ? Did you disclose both shops ?

Nobody on the forums can reopen your shop but with a bit more info someone might be able to see what the issue may be, I am only guessing though.

If you keep sending new tickets then you have several issues opened.  Just respond to one of Etsy's replies and keep that email going back and forth until it is resolved.  If you fail to respond to the email, then Etsy closes it and deems it resolved. This might be why you keep ending up back at the beginning.  One email - over and over and over - don't let it close.

Well, I'm happy to report that my shop has now been restored.

Yet, I'm still feelings the effects of all the intense stress.

I've learned some crucial lessons after this experience.
