More information on the GET5 promotion, please!

Does anyone know when this promotion starts today (Friday 15th)? As well, I did a test to use the code and got an error message to update currency to USD - I am in Canada. Why would this be? Does not provide ease of shopping and will frustrate buyers. Why can you not purchase using code in your own currency (pounds, CDN$) - someone from Etsy please address this! Merci!

There's a little dark blue price tag icon with "apply Etsy coupon code" when they're still looking at their cart. It under the black "proceed to checkout" button, and it's easy to miss.

THIS: Why doesn’t Etsy alert Sellers to promotions such as this? I see it on the banner page and immediately wonder, is this coming out of my sales? (With off-site ads that I would prefer to opt out of, but cannot, last month my total fees exceeded 35%.) I understand now that Sellers are not out-of-pocket on the $5. But PLEASE ETSY - Send a message to Sellers explaining promotions such as this! Buyers inquire and Sellers need to know how we are affected!

There was an announcement here yesterday, and one of my shops got an email about it.

Thanks, PillowDetails. You received an email from Etsy alerting you to the promotion? Strange -- why was notification not sent to all Sellers? I spent quite a bit of time on the Forums when I saw the Banner on the Etsy homepage, so now I know what's going on (although it doesn't seem to be "working" because even when I click on items that total less than $25, the discount is still offered).

When I entered the coupon code GET5 it said coupon code invalid.

Are you entering it as an Etsy code, or as a shop code?

Not working for me either.  Keeps telling to "sign in to get code".  Signed in again but it still did not work.

When I enter the coupon code GET5 at check out.......  it keeps telling me to "sign in to get code".  I signed out and signed in again but it did not help.  Item is over $25.  I have tried 3 times without success.

Now it says "code invalid".
