My messages have been deactivated and I can't answer potential buyers. Etsy is not responding to my support request. Is there any solution?
I just looked at your shop - removed my post.
If you solicit via Etsy messages, they get disabled.
Gotta catch them all.
You can sign up for Etsy to send coupons to people who favorite an item or leave something in their cart. If someone has not signed up to receive marking emails from a shop, then it is illegal in some countries and against Etsy's terms of use in all of them. You cannot send them yourself because you don't know who asked for these emails. Etsy has recently started removing this feature so shop owners can't send emails themselves. If you are having a problem with other messages, then contact Etsy. They are the only ones who can restore this function.
possible reasons
You sent too many messages- so Etsy think you are spamming
you are spamming- this means you are contacting potential customers. this is illegal in many countries including the US, UK and EU and not allowed on Etsy.
Both will get your message privileges revoked- You should eventually get them back , but no telling how long it will take Etsy also they don't tend to communicate with you about it either.
Etsy messages are to be used to contact regarding received orders only.
Don't try to use this service to promote or get new sales. If you continue doing this Etsy will close your shop and you could receive a large fine if reported to the relevant bodies about this.
For actual order queries, use the customers email address.
We are not supposed to help sellers who do not follow the rules.
Be sure to study up on what is and is not allowed on Etsy. AI art is allowed. IP infringements are not allowed.
@GrailCups: If you are getting the "Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled" advisory (and not to discount the fact that your messaging may have been disabled in error) generally it is because the system has detected that your account has been sending unsolicited non-transactional messages.
There does not appear to be a published time for how long messaging is muted and based on posts in this forum it can vary.
Again based on other posts, Etsy does not seem to view support requests based on what seem to be user violations as a priority.
To expand on what others have mentioned, you need to include your licensing information for all of the trademarked and copyrighted names and images in your shop in your listing, otherwise buyers (and Etsy) may conclude they are counterfeits. And a buyer could file a not as described case against you and both get their money back and keep the item. Including the licensing information will show that you are not selling those items illegally and people in the forum will be to help you.
