Is anyone else getting this message? I can't get thru to my customers.
je ne comprend pas ce que tu veut dir
@saharhome OP is unable to send Etsy messages
What does that mean? OP is unable to send Etsy messages?
If it’s truly customers who have purchased from you, you click on their name on the order and you have their email, as a way to still contact them.
@Kittyandme Did I misunderstand what you posted?
This usually happens when someone has been sending a lot of messages out to people other than responding to customers. Have you been sending offers to past customers, for example? Not allowed. When the system detects a lot of messages going out, but not coming in, the ability to send messages is disabled. It will usually not resume for around 10 days.
No, I'm just trying to answer questions.
I'm trying to respond to my customers but I'm getting a message saying "my messages are temp. disabled". I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.
If you haven't been trying to market your shop through Messages, you'll have to contact Etsy to find out what is going on.
There is always the possibility it is one of Etsy's non-stop glitches and will clear up in a few hours.
Thank you very much! That's probably when it is. I only use my blog and FB for marketing, never directly thru Etsy so it probably is a glitch.
@Kittyandme: If you are getting the "Bummer, your messages have been temporarily disabled" advisory, and not to discount the fact that your messaging may have been disabled in error, generally it is because the system has detected that your account has been sending unsolicited non-transactional messages. While you are waiting for Etsy to reactivate your messaging you may want to read the "Dos and Don'ts of Communicating With Customers" https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/26590492608
There does not appear to be a published time for how long messaging is muted and based on posts in this forum it can vary.
Again based on other posts, Etsy does not seem to view support requests based on user violations as a priority.
