I'm not too concerned about this as Etsy is a tiny part of my sales. The algorithm works against people from what I have seen. I'm messaging here because I'm irritated more than anything else. I don't receive many messages, but when I do, I respond to them within hours and usually on the same day. However, spam messages also come in through Etsy messages. I don't respond to these for fear of scams. My message customer service score then gets affected by this. So the whole thing is ridiculous. I've only ever received a fiver star review, I have dispatched every order with the exception of one on time over a two year period. I should have a top rating and perfect score, but Etsy AI and algorithms don't see it that way. So I then have no visibility and low sales. It's a strange business model. You take from every sale but don't promote my visibility because of the flawed customers service score. I don't work for Etsy, I am very happy with the relationship with my customers. My reviews will tell you that. I just thought I'd let you know that you are being self destructive with your ridiculous model. This has encouraged me to start my own website, so thank you for the push that I needed.

If it's spam, mark it as spam, you don't need to reply

you don't have the message badge, because you don't mark spam messages as spam - that's down to you
you are also missing the ships on time with tracking - download the csv to see which ones etsy thinks are late or without tracking
This is Etsy's playground and we are bound by the game rules. It was a good idea to start your own website anyway as it is best not to rely on one platform alone.

The Star Seller metric for messages is very simplistic and binary - either you replied to (or marked as SPAM) that first message of every new incoming thread within 24 hours or you did not.
