I contacted Etsy through chat and was told to post in Technical Issues so here goes.
For star seller stats my message answering rate is calculated wrong.
I even opened the file, and it shows that I answered all messages within 24 hours.
I know that the phone support and live chat support folks tell you to post here for help but it's just us sellers here. The live chat and phone call back support people are just a call center. They are very very limited in the issues they can help with and pretty much just repeat what's in the help center articles.
Unfortunately the Help Center article says the same incorrect thing- to post here.

it says "Etsy Support can’t make changes to your Star Seller data or manually award Star Seller badges. If you think your Star Seller score was calculated incorrectly, you can let us know in the Technical Issues forum."
But they changed this to a peer to peer support forum a few years ago so it's just us sellers here sadly. Occasionally an admin will pop in if there is a major issue going on but generally it's just us sellers. If you need more help from etsy support you will need to contact them again but this time use the email option. That is the only one that will get you to an actual etsy employee vs the call center folks.

I do know that it is just people here, but I was told by a 'bot' to post here. What am I supposed to do, ignore it?
Thanks for your help though.
It seems to me that Etsy is relying on these "bots" to do more and more of their customer service for sellers. Is anyone else having serious problems with the bots making stupid decisions? Why is there no appeal process in place so that we, as sellers, can have a real human intervene and get involved? I'm very interested to know if I'm the only one who's growing increasingly frustrated about this.
@MyOverstuffedAttic: How is your "message answering rate is calculated wrong" ? If you are referring to the September 1 star and badges, did you download the file from the 'previous period' tab? That is where the stats and downloads for the September 1 star are. What you see on the default tab is the stats and downloads for the October 1 star and badges,
Yes, I did. A conversation that I started was calculated wrong. Of course I checked the right timeline before contacting Etsy.
Thanks for the replies. I tracked down what happened.
This happened to me as week - my buyer asked a question and I answered it right away- but I got a 50% on the response- how did you figure it out if you can share because I keep getting a run around on how to solve the error in their stats
I had auto reply on and I guess it did not work.
