Urgent assistance required! Unable to close the chat, leaving no way to contact Etsy!!!

I am a seller from Japan, and I am currently facing an unsolvable system issue. I am unable to close Etsy's support chat, which has resulted in no one responding to my inquiries.

Previously, I had an issue and contacted Etsy customer support. However, the chat agaent disappeared halfway through the conversation. Although they informed me that the issue I reported (which is unrelated to this discussion) would be escalated to a higher-level technical team, I never received any follow-up emails to help resolve that problem. I then attempted to reach out to online support to check the status, but I discovered that no matter what I input, the online chat agaent was unresponsive, and I am now unable to close the current chat.

What I have tried: As a seller from Japan, the only way to contact Etsy is through online chat. I attempted to call customer support, but the phone number input field does not accommodate the length of a Japanese phone number. Japanese numbers have 10 digits, yet Etsy's system restricts input to only 9 digits, rendering this function useless. I also tried entering phrases like "chat with an agent" and "exit," but there was still no response. Days have passed, and I find this system utterly ridiculous...

Japan seller don’t even have a way to contact Etsy via email or call back. In the end, I had to search the community for others with the same issue and found a kind person who shared an Etsy email address. However, even after sending an email, I still haven’t received any response.

For non-US sellers, if Etsy's online chat fails to close, they are left with no way to contact Etsy at all. It is hard to believe that in 2024 today, such an unreasonable service system still exists. I consider this to be a very basic and absurd error.

I have a great appreciation for Etsy. But I hope to spend my time and energy on creating, not on dealing with these basic technical issues. There have been complaints for a long time about the inability to exit Etsy’s chat. Online chat is crucial for sellers facing difficulties. Why has Etsy not made any effort to address this? If I hadn’t known about the community, I would have had no place to express my frustrations and concerns. This is highly unfair to sellers. I sincerely request that Etsy's technical team provide a reasonable explanation to the sellers affected by this issue and resolve the technical problem as soon as possible!

Use email.  It's right there under Help called Contact us.  You can contact Etsy by email.

I have never had chat at all and I am in the US.  I tried a few different times and it never worked for me.

In fact, there was no email contact information on the Japanese page. In the end, I contacted them via email and resolved the issue, but I obtained the email address by looking at an email link shared by someone else. This is the most difficult part to understand.

Open a help request ticket. That is the best way.

My chat was stuck last week - my last conversation was still visible but when I typed "hello" or "help, nothing happened. 

This morning I tried and it seems to be working. 

I 100% agree Etsy needs to fix this long term, this has happened to me in the past and it continues to happen to other sellers.
