Message notification, but no messages received

Hi!

Twice today I received message notifications from ETSY, from 2 customers that I have been in contact with the last couple of days. When I open up the message it doesn't show any new messages. Is there somebody else who is experiencing the same problem?

I have an orange notification above my icon and I thought it was a message but it's a reminder to leave a review for an item  I haven't even received yet, This is annoying!

I am seeing messages from new orders (same customer) only attaching to the customers first order.  It's confusing. When I go to the new order it looks like I have not sent them a message or received one.

I see that via the app. It shows notification but no new messages. I think it is somehow attaching to already answered messages.

I think there's a glitch. I always check my messages before going to bed. Nothing on Tuesday night, but Wednesday morning there was a new message from a buyer that was dated Tuesday 4:47 pm. That's a little concerning.

I have the same thing.  Email saying there is a message but none are found when I check.  This was 2 days ago.  Today and I another email telling me I have an unread message but there's still none to be found.

I made a new account for opening my business.  Turns out the message notification I received was to my old account, not the current one that I am logged into.  I need to go delete the old account as I don't need it anymore.

I had the same ting happen to me. I believe it was yesterday or the day before. I tried to open it and nothing was there.

@AprilHyltonDesigns   and @RugsmithArt  - This is an old thread and may be closed.

First be careful of any emails received. Always go to Etsy, to your shop manager & your Etsy Messages. From there you will see a "from Etsy" box, etc. Remember, real messages from Etsy will be in the "from Etsy" box. 

This is also where you will see your new messages.
Do check your spam box too. Etsy has been trying to keep scammers at bay by sending these questionable messages to your shop's spam box. This could possibly account for some of the numbers you are seeing.

Also do note that there will be differences in what you see when it comes to using your phone & the Etsy app & what you will see using a computer and a browser.

Is it possible that the messages may be "help requests?"  I am not sure, but maybe?  Or is it in another section of messages?  Just a thought.
