Message board test. Please Etsy make it stop!!!!

So I now have an orange dot with the number "71" where my orders used to be. Is anyone else getting this???

These are convos in my messenger all lit up in orange like they're new and I haven't responded to them (in reality they have all been responded to).

Is it possible to opt out of the test cos it's giving me anxiety?

@NanaLetha Etsy is currently making changes to the Star Seller program.  Part of this change is within the messages area.  I'm assuming they are still working on this and the problem will be resolved soon.  I hope this helps!

Wouldn't it be loverly if Etsy could actually test these things out on a MIRROR SITE, before blowing up our shop systems...ya know, the ones we rely on daily?!

I have 7 messages that are dotted, already taken care of and two message icons in my left column... and when I tried to see what was going on, I was taken to some Google thing? NO WAY will I involve Google in my messages to buyers, so don't go there Etsy!

I have no issues with answering messages, but to be sure I don't miss anyone, I have auto-reply set up and it's been working fine without your interference.

If it can't be rolled out without all these glitches, then why mess with what works already? I'm already fed up with the micro managing of my shop as it is.

BTW, why are they showing...
"LOW IN STOCK" on all my handmade findings? All my findings are quantities listed in bundles to save buyers on shipping and me on renewal fees, so If it's because you've chosen the quantity as 1 (not my choice), then stop it... you're misleading customers again!

Hi, just click on each message (even though you've already responded to them), and that orange number will go away.

I was lucky I only had 8 that were highlighted but yes, all had already been answered...

Thanks. I have 46 highlighted. Wasn't sure how to get rid of the orange dot. I keep seeing 46 on my orders icon and was freaking out. Can't process 46 orders in 3 days. I'll click on each one and make it go away.

Thank You.  I don't have the Orange Dot, but my Shop is on Vacation.

In my Shop Manager I have Messages and Messenger.

When I click Messages, everything looks the same as before,

When I click Messenger, in the middle of the page it says, "No Messages".  Under that, "New conversations will appear here."

On that same page in the upper Left corner, it says "Messages".  Under that it says, "You have no Messages."

I had 108 (ALL were ones I had sent "thank you" to. )Clicked on all dots shown but 34 still shows up. Such a joke.

Same thing here! I had to go through and open 21 messages just to make sure I had replied. Nuts! I hate the new format. In my humble opinion makes it harder to find, and refer back to, older message threads which I do all the time to find doll measurements and photos some of my regular customers have sent me.

Yes, please stop- this has been intermittent this past weekend for me, I call them phantom numbers. Got all excited thought I had a lot of new sales last weekend (I think it was Friday) and when I clicked on it there was nothing- now it wants me to sign into some program I don't have. I figured out if you click on each message like someone said, it goes away (mine were all answered).  I don't like seeing numbers there if it's not a sale or a legit question.  

Just to clarify this is a "message" test in your shop not this message board.

I have 62 messages with orange dots next to them and ALL were responded to in a timely manner.   The number 62 is showing where sales should be located.  This is confusing because it mixes the number of sales with the number of messages.  The orange dots need to be deleted!

I just got rid of the orange dots.  I clicked on all 62 messages and the dots disappeared.  Just took a few minutes to do.

That's what I said. But then it annoyed me so much that I wasted 15 minutes of my life clicking on all of them.

Do Etsy really think we've got nothing better to do!!? I was in a road traffic accident on Saturday with my vehicle written off, the garage and insurance to deal with, my buyers to deal with and orders to get out and now 71 dots to make go away! I really feel like Etsy is trying to break me right now.

@shabbyfrenchvintage  So sorry to hear that. Hope everyone is OK. I understand the frustration. I have several things that I'm dealing with on my Mother in Law's behalf and this 46 dot thing threw me this morning (even further than I was already thrown). Best wishes.

Agreed. Several of my "new" messages were older ones from content creators/other unsolicited stuff. I'd marked them as spam so as not to affect my messaging rate, and now they're all shiny and new again. Etsy must be a mind reader, because this is EXACTLY what I want to be dealing with the day after a holiday!

I contacted customer support and said exactly that:  STOP IT.  I got told it was for my benifit and there was nothing wrong, then they closed the 'chat'.  I'm seriously not impressed.

I just know I was freaked out when I was asked to log in to some message board. If they take our messages off Etsy or thru another platform that would be very foolish on their part.

It's already cumbersome enough to try and communicate with buyers thru the message system, since buyers don't always log in or have notifications enabled, and it's a bitch to reach them once they purchase and leave the site.

Seriously like what the heck LOL.  I went through and clicked on all the messages to make the orange number go away.  But why in the world do we need 2 places for the SAME messages.  This makes absolutely no sense at all and if this is where etsy is putting the extra money they are getting for the fee increase that is 100% cray cray.

I was kind of relieved to find that orange 12 was 12 old messages marked as new and not 12 new orders.  I can't handle that many right now.

On another note did anyone just see the email etsy sent.  They are changing the metrics for star seller!  Now you have to have a 4.8 star rating and all messages from 1 person are going to be combined so you only have to respond the first time. 

Also now you only need 5 orders instead of 10.  This sounds like a good thing.  Maybe the messaging thing is to do with this change.

Yes, this is terrible! And I can't even leave feedback about it or learn how to use it because I have to "sign in" - but I am signed in to Etsy!
