Message board test. Please Etsy make it stop!!!!

So I now have an orange dot with the number "71" where my orders used to be. Is anyone else getting this???

These are convos in my messenger all lit up in orange like they're new and I haven't responded to them (in reality they have all been responded to).

Is it possible to opt out of the test cos it's giving me anxiety?

Can't get the required Google feedback link though it is my browser.

The entire process was broken from the start. Sent my request to Google quite some time ago and still no message from them OR any change to the Etsy feedback loop. Still says I am NOT authorized.

Do not have time to deal with this now.  Hope Etsy can figure it out.

You want to know what the icing is on this awful cake?  There is a button to click on to Share Feedback to "tell us if you have feedback or spot a bug."  If you click on that button it takes you to a page where google says you don't have permission to see the form. It is so broken that even the form to tell them how this new feature is broken, the form itself is also broken.  Etsy can't even manage to get a google form right.

Yes this change is INSANE and not at all useful, in fact it's the opposite it wastes time because now we have to make sure they are all old messages that we answered.  What the hell is Etsy thinking? and then they have the nerve to attach some link to a google doc that won't let me access cuz it doesn't recognize me the shopowner? Maybe Etsy is going for some kind of failure record:))) PLUS first i've noticed that there is no longer a live support phone number, in fact they go out of their way to make contact difficult.

We, too, had 50+ of our old messages marked as unread w/ the orange dots, when all of them were already read/addressed. Clicking on each message made the "unread" dot go away... (Hoping this glitch doesn't somehow make it so we "didn't respond to new messages" this month.)

Additionally, we could only go back for up to 3 pages -- the last message being from 5/1. Please tell me we are going to be able to have FULL access to ALL past messages no matter how old... not just 30 days' worth.

One BIG problem we see is that we no longer have the ability to search our messages! This is a SUPER important feature to have available still -- we used that *constantly*!

Also -- really dislike that we can't still have an "inbox" because we like to retain messages in there that we need to refer back to -- like when we need a reminder to follow up w/ a customer about something... but don't want to have anything else cluttering up the "inbox" & prefer to archive stuff that is fully closed/resolved. Now there's no way to keep any messages "flagged" to show importance/priority/etc.

And, as has already been pointed out, the links to provide feedback don't work. (Plus, no apparent way to mark messages as spam anymore...?)

Please just bring back the old format! Don't fix what isn't broken!

Wow, I didn't even notice that you can't search messages.  I can't tell you how many times I have had to go back to some conversation from 2 years ago because a returning customer wants the "same as before" and I have to go searching back to figure out what that was.

Yes, I need access to ALL messages not just the last month, please.

I like to be able to search messages.

And - the number of messages in each thread was a useful thing to see, because if it was just 1 I knew I needed to reply.

Not broke, don't need fixing.

Spend your efforts getting a decent Help system in place for the things that are broke, and DO need fixing.

As @CleverCreationsUK  stated, Messenger has disappeared from my Shop Manager (Left Column); it was there earlier; my Shop is on Vacation.

I think due to the SS change, perhaps things  ran amok while Etsy is tinkering/testing the Message part of the SS Changes (where they stated that multiple Messages from buyers will now be "bundled").

ok mine just went back to normal i think, maybe they figured out they'd effed up?  no more orange dots. The Google thing was completely stupid and off brand also, I thought Etsy was decent about their own technology in general - at least that should be their goal. If this is related to the Star Seller nonsense (OT but also super stupid since the requirements are so arbitrary) . . . luckily i don't need Etsy to promote me.

So I saw in another thread a seller was told by someone in a support chat that this was only supposed to be released within Etsy, not to sellers which is why the Google docs and feedback form aren't working. I looked at the messenger page again and see this wording "We're trying out some changes in Messages for Admin" which does say Admin. So I am thinking this was a huge oops that sellers aren't supposed to be seeing. If that is the case, it would be nice if someone from Etsy would confirm that here.

Editing to add fixing it and making it go away if we aren't supposed to be seeing it would be really super duper.

Truly, the issue is not that Etsy is moving to a new message program.

The issue (and it is a big one) is that Etsy continues to release changes to our shops and operating features, in real time, without advance notification and before the bugs and glitches are worked out.

It is a tremendous issue that the IT department regularly goes public with changes that have not been tested to perfection, which affect important shop operations and financial functions.

These kind of changes should never be allowed to go live before they are tested, refined and tested again, on multiple platforms, with all the glitches worked through.
