I just realized that a Thank You message that I received FROM someone that I purchased an SVG file from last month ruined my star seller stats because I didn't reply to them. Makes no sense that I would be judged on not responding to a thank you, when this should be based on replying to messages from customers/potential customers.
What everyone else said. Each and every message must be responded to.
This is the 7 zillionth thread about this. It happens to everyone..................once.
At least it should only happen once. Learn from this and move on..............................
And read/search the forums when you have an issue.
Thanks, I've never been in this forum before, so I missed those 7 zillion posts, and I don't know that I even realized I was posting here...it was the day after a surgery and I probably shouldn't have been online, LOL. I've got to get out of this forum though because I certainly wasn't looking for 27 responses to a simple issue. Do you know if I can delete this or how to make it stop? Sorry for asking another question...if it bothers you to answer it, then just don't worry about answering, LOL.
@ChillwolfArtMessage combining started on or about June 30th. If you already had multiple threads with an account the subsequent messages were attached to one of those old threads (the most recent?). If there were no previous threads then a new one was started and everything going forward will be attached there. ONE WARNING: Help Requests seem to always start a new thread even if you have previous messages / convos with that account.
@BagmakerSupply Thank You; I didn't know this. As my season nears, I tend to delete most of my Messages fr. the previous year (unless I feel there is a reason to hold onto a couple of them). So that's good to know.
ETA: Also good to know about the Help Requests. I had one last year. But it was a Customer who purchased something then asked if I could make them something I ran out of. It came as a Help Request, which was the first time I've ever seen that sort of Tab (it had a peach colored background for the tab; the font was black).
I had a similar situation and if you put it in your spam, you should get your good rating back and they won't be penalized. That worked for me.
I wonder WHY some sellers want to send a private message to a buyer to begin with, after Etsy already sends them an official order confirmation message WITH a personal message!
Don't they know they can set up an order confirmation message with a thank you ? Why say the same thing twice over?
I have a feeling it's small sellers, a big seller wouldn't have the time.
Then I have a feeling they don't understand how the Starseller works, at least that's my experience.
@AnnaleasFinest How many threads do we see in this forum about issues with notifications to sellers? Just because Etsy has confirmed the order does not mean, to me, that the seller is aware of the order. As a buyer I appreciate knowing that the actual seller has received the order and is processing it.
I've actually never seen such a thread before....! : - )))
And so far, luckily, all my sellers here knew I had ordered and didn't feel it necessary to contact me.
Except for one, and I had to reply. She had no idea that a seller who didn't reply to this would get dinged!
Anyhow, to each their own.
