I have set up auto response messages for my Etsy account, but my message response rating shows 50%. How is this possible if I have auto response?
You probably didn't understand how the settings for auto reply work and didn't realize that you need to renew it every 5 days. Explained here:

Choose how long you’d like to have your auto-reply on. You can have an auto-reply for up to 5 days...
You can set it up for a period of 1 hour or as much as 5 days.
