Many of my variations lost their pricing

Many of my listings with variations are glitched. As soon as I edit the listing, all of the prices are the same. The slide "Prices Vary" is turned off for some reason. (I have never turned this off) This is happening to most of my older listings. When I move the slide back to the "on" position, all of the prices disappear and I have to remember what they were and re-enter them. I am taking a picture before editing and then turning the slide bar back on, then re-entering prices. Does anyone else see this?

You can test this by doing the following:

From your shop manager, click listings. Click variations at the top. Are there prices shown next to each variation? If not, your listings are affected and are turned off. New listings from the last year are fine, just older ones are affected.

This happened to me about 6 months ago and took hours to fix, not sure I ever got them all fixed.

Ugh same thing happened to me today. Etsy of course is taking no responsibility for the technical error and told me to clear my cache. All of listings with variations (hundreds) are messed up. No variation pricing or photos. This is going to take me hours to fix.

There have been numerous threads in the past week, and Etsy Support mostly seems to be denying there is a problem. 

I still can't figure out why it is only happening to a small percentage of sellers.

I updated my pricing on the app the day before this happened. Usually I do annual evaluations/price updates on the desktop version. Maybe the app is the issue?

Etsy sent sellers messages: "We recently identified and fixed an error that affected the prices on some of your listings with variations...." it goes on.

It was CLAIMED that our listings were then deactivated. We were told to fix our variation pricing and then reactivate the listings.

HOWEVER, I have at least 13 that were NOT DEACTIVATED that I found today and now have to adjust the variation pricing.

So annoying. Very time consuming and we aren't getting anything for their error...

I received an message from Etsy on April 25, 2025. Then again the same thing happened and received an additional message on April 30, 2025.

***I've checked to see if I can find any commonalities among the listings. Most if not all had "best seller badge" in the past. The listings were not in the same category in my shop. They were not in the same "Etsy search category". I checked a lot of other things too and am at a loss other than "badges".***

So weird. I haven't changed prices in over a year and when I do, it's on the desktop. I've never done it on the app.

I love how Etsy adds new things, what we don't need and disrupts what's already there.

I've often wondered why when Etsy changes anything, listings seem to go to the default settings.  Like if you changed anything, it reverts or drops attributes and settings.  I've never had another platform that does that.

I am currently unable to update the prices of variants on my products. Also, I don't understand why some variants on some of my listings are active and others are not.

I had to go into Manage Variations and re-tick the price varies box as it unticked on a number of my listings.

This happened to me too and I got orders for high amounts at the lowest price. One of the customers is waiting for me to fulfill the order. If I cancel, she will probably leave a low star review. I can't reach anyone from Etsy. What do you think I should do? If an admin reads this, please contact me.

@WorldOfWoodenbyAlp I'm sorry that happened to you! How big of a price difference are we talking? If it was $20 or under I would fulfill, just to keep my customer happy, as it was not their fault. If it's a really big price difference, I would send a kind message telling them about the glitch and that you cannot fulfill the order at the price Etsy charged. If it is not set to ship, I don't believe they are able to leave a review yet. If it is getting close to the ship by date, push the date out a week, then cancel after letting the customer know.

Contact Etsy through email.

 Try telling them something like "During an update to either the code or the database the bit value indicating whether or not there is a price variation on my listings got reset to "off/zero". The listings defaulted to the lowest variation price. The affected listings that caused a loss in revenue were" and then go on to detail the listings numbers, the order numbers for anything that caused a loss, the date of the last sale and order number that the variation prices were correct (if applicable) and your total loss of revenue for all the orders placed without variation pricing.

You will need to correct the listings yourself at this point. Etsy had no solution to correct it for me.

Do not refund your customer, it is not their fault, work with Etsy - they should be covering your loss in revenue.

Ship it. Per Etsy they are crediting you any pricing error amounts.

"This error may have resulted in some of your listings being sold for a lower price than you intended. We want to make things right–we’ve credited your Etsy payment account (www.etsy.com/your/account/payments) to cover the difference in what your buyers incorrectly paid. You’ll notice credit(s) in your payment account described as “Variation pricing error.”"

Have you [all affected] bulk edited these listings at some point? Someone mentioned in the forum this glitch happened when they bulk edited listings with variations.

It could be that bulk edit tool is corrupting variation settings (erases them).

@irmaKdesigns No, I noticed it today when I went into my listings to edit the prices. In the sales section, the customers can see the variations, but in the background I can't set the variation prices. The boxes next to them where I enter the price have disappeared.

There was a thread about bulk edit glitch,

"When I use the bulk update (listings page, edit > select various listings > 'editing options' > edit prices) and make an edit, the listings affected automatically unlink the variations and images. This only happens when bulk editing."

@irmaKdesigns Maybe, like I said, I haven't used the bulk options. I always go into my lists and change the prices. It is very interesting that some of my lists have these options but others do not. I contacted the customer services and sent the problem with screenshots, they said they would forward it to the technical department because it was a technical problem.

Variation prices disappeared from some of my listings. I have not edited any of my affected listings at any point, in any way.

This happens to my shop periodically on Etsy.  It sure is a pain because it is very time-consuming to fix!  And it is always maddening.   Unfortunately, Etsy has become a difficult site to work with.  I still feel  Etsy is a beneficial support site for a main business.  But I've learned not to rely on it nor make it a priority.
