Something started happening Friday, which is really hurting my shop and my ability to continually add listings when I have time.

what happening is I have a template listing that I use for most of my listings and when I go to create a new listing and I select a copy and existing listing and I pull that listing up when I go to edit the new title, and the photographs and the SKU number, the price, the description, etc. etc when I publish the new listing, the title and the description is reverting back to what it was before I edited it. In other words, it’s going back to the listing that I copied

For example, if I pull up a “Gorham Sterling nut dish” because I’m posting another “Sheffield nut dish”  I edit the title to say “Sheffield nut dish” then I go down to the other information by the time I scroll back up it has already changed back to “Gorham nut dish”

The same thing is happening with the description. Luckily, it is saving the photos, the SKU number the prices, the tags and all of the other information. But it’s continually not saving the title and the description.

and it looks like it’s saving it when you publish the listing, but when I go back and look at it later, it didn’t save the title or the listing. I’ve had listings that have been up for days that had the incorrect title and description. This is kind of scary,

has anyone had any problems like this? I’ve reached out to Etsy, but so far they haven’t been any help at all. Do they ever call you?

Something similar was happening a few months ago with the newer listing layout. The workaround that worked for me at the time was to save as a draft first, then go back in and publish.

@artPause if i remember well it worked also for me. I was trying to change the price.

I can give you another suggestion. If you are using web try to use the app and vieceversa. Maybe the problem is only on one of them.

Ironically, I think I inadvertently did that the other day and if I remember correctly, I think you’re right that worked for me. I’ll have to purposely give it a test run. How utterly ridiculous but if it fixes the problem for now, I’m game

Yes, it has happened to me.  In fact , I thought it had something to do with Etsy not wanting copying of sold listings.  I specifically buy similar to what I have sold because that is working well for me and it makes listing much easier.  For example, lunch boxes.  But I noticed it happening occasionally that the listing would revert to the original.  Rather than try to chat about it or contact Etsy, I simply redid it again.  It didn't require a new fee, so I corrected and moved on.  That seemed to work and I monitor things in my shop - especially slow times.:(.  This could be a real issue though if this happens and shop owner is unaware.  Opens seller up to NAD complaint affecting star seller status () !  These issues can be much more than a stitch going awry!  I began to save as draft then edit, but can't remember if that fixed the problem.  My solution is trust Etsy BUT verify.

Totally agree. Thought I’d made errors on my previous updates as they didn’t reflect when I checked them.

But today I was really focusing editing and updating and ensured I “saved”; then went to the web browsers to link photos and the updated listing title and description were the old version

I just had it on adding variants (went to web browser and the new ones weren’t there).  I know I changed some photos the other night as there was an error on one listing but when I went to that listing today the original photo was there 🤦‍.

I usually use the app on my iPad but occasionally on my phone. I wonder if it’s dependent on the device or just the app.

it definitely seems as though it is something to do with the app.

Io solitamente uso L applicazione sul cellulare ed ha sempre funzionato, ora riscontro gli stessi problemi. Ho provato a disinstallare e re installare L app ma non è cambiato nulla. Nemmeno da iPad funziona!

When I post a new list that has "similar" title and description as others, I have a saved template in "word doc" on my computer that I just copy and then paste into my new listing then only have  minor adjustment to make for the new listing.

I also revert back to the old listing process I stead of using the new one.

Yeah I’m on my phone and with the volume of listings I have there is no way I’m adding g extra steps. I’ll leave Etsy first. Lol

1 more seller here have this same issue for the last few days now. Wasted tons of time redoing things, at least several hours now.

My only suggestion, is to copy/paste the Title & Description into Word/Notepad before you leave the section. That way, if it's not saved, you can copy/paste it back again! Not an ideal solution, but better than nothing, which is what it seems like we are getting!

I have had the exact same problem, and it is super frustrating!!!

I have noticed that only the LAST change you make saves. So when I copy a listing, instead of changing the price, the pics, and the description, I just change one thing and exit the listing. Then I go back, edit another item, and exit. Of course, this is a little time consuming, but still much better than creating listings from scratch!

That is a great example of what should not be happening when a seller has a listing issue like this. I refuse to subject myself to a frustrating help desk until it is life and death.  ( Kind of like the DMV )  I had trouble listing from a copy again today but I just kept checking and changing.  Part of the listing changed  while another part remained the way it had been.  Finally it worked, but again the focus is always on rolling out another new thing instead of fixing issues that are ongoing.  Also I think forum topics on Star seller are being hidden or deleted.  I know that Etsy has the right to intervene in forums, but that is wrong IMO.

Same here. my focus is very much on getting as much listed as I can because I have a ton more product than I have time to list it

any amount of bumps in the road are costing me valuable time that I don’t have enough of already

so this is super frustrating to me I count on streamlining my listing process-

I haven’t listed anything in a week because I don’t have the time for the frustration. I’ve been trying to focus on researching and processing the merchandise  I’m getting in ..in hopes that they’ll get this worked out soon so I can get back to listing

it shouldn’t be that way

It's been 4-5 days I have noticed the App is not saving. Desktop computer is NOT having these issues. Big waste of time. Turning your phone off and on might help. Again if only Etsy announced this was happening it would lessen the impact on Sellers. Help Desk only seems to make it sound like it's your issue/fault which would be just one more indignity...so smart to avoid that.  The forums is where I go to see if I'm the only one.

I have been having a similar problem. When I want to list a new item, I copy a similar item and make the necessary changes in title, photos, description, tags and price. Then I "publish copy" I have been doing this for 7 years on Etsy with no problem. Then along came the new listing format and last week in order to prepare for the holidays I decided to add lots of new listings. After a while I realized that the "copies" had replaced the originals and the original listing was gone! I don't remember all the old listings I used to make copies and will have to go through my whole inventory to find out. I wrote to Etsy support and asked how I can restore the lost listings. They were very polite and friendly and in "Etsy Speak" gave me answers completely unrelated to my problem.

I am using the app and copying an active listing. When I attempt to make any changes to the title, description etc and move on to another section, when I go back to the last change made, it isn’t saving it. I have to double check each section before I publish it  and redo it which takes twice as much time. I even tried to copy and save a draft before making any changes and that isn’t working. This problem has only started over the last two days.

I’m getting the same. But not only from copying an existing listing. I start new listings and if I forget to copy the long descriptions, I have to re-write them from scratch. This is extremely annoying and time consuming. I can see this issue was raised a year ago. What is Etsy doing to sort this issue out?
