Major Listing Free Problems

When Etsy listing fees expire, I trust that the item has expired. But yesterday I noticed that they charged for items I did not relist, then the items I did relist yesterday came up today. Then I started checking and some of my items only listed a few months before coming back up. It is a total mess. Anyone ever have this happen?

Automatic renewal is the default setting unless you change it to manual  and if you edit anything on the listing it will revert to auto renew.

Renewed items yesterday, they all came up for renewal today ( they are showing in my shop). Some other items have only listed for two months. ( Checking my statements) Also Two items I have not listed for years renewed. Totally messed up. If they automatically get listed they should not come up on my expired list.
