Etsy knows about this issue and what happened. They corrected the problem they said. If you lost star seller because if it let them know that you were caught in the issue. THey have said they would restore star seller for this issue but I have no idea if that truly happened.
This issue was reported in the forums in April and May which does make the forums a good place to peruse for information about issues.
