Frustrations with Etsy Vacation Mode Due to Payoneer Account Issues

Jump to solution

Dear Etsy Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm writing to share my frustrating experience with Etsy's vacation mode due to ongoing issues with my Payoneer account. My shop has been on vacation mode for an extended period now, all because of an unresolved problem between Payoneer and Etsy.

The root of the problem lies in Payoneer changing my account ID, which subsequently caused a disconnect between my Payoneer and Etsy accounts. Payoneer representatives informed me that Etsy would need to relink my Payoneer account, yet every time I've contacted Etsy support, I'm met with the same response—they cannot assist with this issue and suggest reaching out to Payoneer.

On the flip side, Payoneer insists that Etsy holds the key to resolving this matter. This ongoing back-and-forth has left me caught in an endless loop of frustration and helplessness. Despite numerous attempts and persistent efforts, I've hit a dead end, with neither Etsy nor Payoneer taking ownership of the problem.

As a seller deeply invested in my Etsy shop, this situation has had a profoundly negative impact on my business. The inability to operate my shop due to a technical issue beyond my control has resulted in lost opportunities, revenue, and the inability to cater to my customers.

I've always valued Etsy's platform for its support and community, but this experience has left me feeling neglected and powerless. I believe that a seamless resolution to this matter should be a priority for both Etsy and Payoneer. It's disheartening to find myself in a situation where neither party is willing to take responsibility or provide a definitive solution.

Before few days ago an etsy agent "Saket" ask me some details for re link payoneer account with etsy again and assured me for help but after provide all the details another agent comes and says same thing i need to contact payoneer. many agents says i need to open new seller etsy account how bad resolution. I also can't open new account. I have not violated any policy and everyone can see my selling histry trough my 5 star rating all customers are very happy and want to buy more but etsy makes me stops.

I'm reaching out to this community in the hope that someone might have encountered a similar issue and found a resolution or can offer guidance on how to navigate this predicament. Any advice, suggestions, or insights would be immensely appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my plight. I hope that by sharing this, we can shed light on these challenges and potentially find a pathway to resolution.

Best regards,

Afreen Khanam

The root of the problem lies in Payoneer changing my account ID,

When you set up an etsy shop, and use payoneer, you have to enrole your shop in payoneer and it's linked to an account, which then payoneer validates everything such as your identity etc, not etsy, and then they would approve the link, depending on validation by payoneer.

Etsy are saying saying they can't just change it, it's probably to do with the fact it's payoneer does the ID checking, and final link, not etsy

So, etsy can't just let you change, without the validating, they are saying payoneer have to link the new account back

I would say, only payoneer can fix this, as they changed it in the first place

The resolution centre of Payoneer in India is a pain to contact. I have since last 5 days continously trying to contact Payoneer, for a simple resolution of adding one more additional TAX ID as informed by Etsy. One Indian national tax ID is already given and verified. Now, Payoneer is a very difficult to contact and seek help for any issue in India. My experience.Etsy should inform Payoneer that since Etsy payment will be the Payment gateway, not Paypal, and Payoneer is clubbed with Etsy, Payoneer must on priority take care of Etsy sellers from India for shiftover smoothly.

I have never used payoneer. When etsy asked to bind payoneer, I directly registered and bound payoneer through etsy's payment settings. Unfortunately, payoneer found that I already had a payoneer account, and registered 2 due to an identity information. An account triggered risk control and my account was frozen. When I contacted customer service I learned that I had an account a long time ago. After a month of back and forth contact, Payoneer’s official solution was to let me delete the existing account and register a new one. My original intention was to keep the account bound to etsy, but payoneer customer service staff deleted my account. Re-registering the account caused the payoneer ID to change. I tried to change this change through etsy payment settings but found that it could not be changed. This is a serious blow to a normally operating store, and I don't know how to solve this problem. I will continue to pay attention and hope that etsy officials can give us a solution.
