This isn’t a new issue but I’ve ignored it for a long time: I have many active listings with renewal dates in the past - when I view the expiration date, the dates are years ago - in 2022, in 2023, May 2024 and more, yet they are all active and I’ve renewed them all this time.
These listings have been on auto-renew for years, and I just switched everything to manual, and nothing updates and I have no idea when these listings will actually expire.
I contacted Etsy support and they did not understand the issue (“Please know that sometimes listings stay active after their expiration date. In most cases, they expire on their own at a later date.”) despite include a screenshot of current, active listings showing expiration dates in 2022. I’m worried if I press the matter they will deactivate all the listings showing these old dates, so I give up.
Anyone else experiencing this? It’d be helpful to know I’m not alone with this issue.
Hi all, and we're sorry to hear you’re having issues! Etsy offers support to sellers over chat, email, and phone through our Help Center. Have you cleaned out cache and cookies? That's one thing to try as it sounds like a display issue.
What device? App?
Did you set to Expiration date soonest?
I checked mine and it shows the expiration date,
I've never used auto-renew.
Thank you for the idea! I’ll try this but the dates are wrong on everything: in the seller app, on mobile browser, and on my MacBooktrying both safari and chrome. Wondering if using auto-renew screwed things up?
Hi, Here is a Thread where the OP is having the same issue. Using the App (I don't know if you are). Major glitch. See the post by EpiclesisConsulting. Hope this helps in some way.

Thanks! I’ll head over to that thread and see what’s being said! But it’s showing wrong dates everywhere (in the app, when I login with a mobile browser, and on my MacBooktrying two diff browsers)
I also have been having this same issue for a long time. I put my shop on vacation mode a while back. When I took it off vacation mode and it charged me over 35.00 in listing fees. They were all on auto renewal and they were suppose to be renewed 4 months later in April. So I figured I would be getting a heck of a renewal fee in April and nothing. They still have renewal date in April of this year. Non of them were auto renewed. Yet they are still listed in my shop. Puzzling.
@Cathyscomfortcorner: Look at the bright side - you are getting to use Etsy's money interest free.

Yes. I’ve already tried Etsy support. They did not understand the issue and said “Please know that sometimes listings stay active after their expiration date. In most cases, they expire on their own at a later date.” despite including a screenshot of current, active listings showing expiration dates in 2022.
I had one of these for over 2 years. I just left it there and did not renew it; it was always available for sale.
Finally sold this month!
Well that’s interesting!
I’ve set every listing to manual renewal so I guess I’ll see what happens when they actually expire!
mine are like this too
I have always used the old listings page with no problems, then Etsy took it away and forced the new one on us....now I can't get an expiration date beyond 2 weeks......mine is always set on manual. Can I call? I have tried the Help Center, they are useless....always busy with other contacts...and they NEVER understand what we are saying....want a screen shot...which never helps. If I list with a wrong date and it expires on wrong date how do I prove that then? I have to wonder if it's just another money maker for Etsy...since they won't fix it.
That sounds super frustrating! I agree with you - Etsy support never gets it quite right with their “help”.
When I've tried re-listing an item recently, I noticed that the "expires on" date was years in the past. I literally cancelled the listing, then went back and tried re-listiing immediately. So far it's always (I think?) worked fine the second time. I don't get it either, but it's worked? Knock wood......
So I thought I came up with a fix it...I'd use the empty box that only we sellers could see on the old listing page to note the actual expiration date of my listings. But Etsy took that away from us too! Every time they 'improve' something 'for us' I know we're in trouble again. New listing format, I can't see any space for us to use for our own notations about the item. Been here over 10 years and I'm not surprised.
