Just FYI, our company is having trouble verifying our bank with Plaid. The bank was already connected, and Etsy successfully made several ACH deposits, but an email said we had to login and verify again? Went directly to Etsy.com to login and verify. When we click the "connect your bank via PLAID button, brings us to a page that has the last 4 digits of our bank account and a box to enter the full bank account. We manually key in the full 9 digit Chase bank account number that is 100% is correct and it gives us an error "The account number you entered doesn’t match what we have on file."
I find that disturbing considering it absolutely has to match it if ACH deposits were successful into that account. Chase has a feature when you login their site, you go to the account, click More options drop down and it has "Account and routing numbers". Clicking that shows the full account number and routing number. So having this pulled up and manually entering those 9 digits creates the error. We tried different browsers, different devices like a smart phone. around 20 attempts today. Still same error. Very frustrating, the account is correct.
We already reached out to Etsy by the way and awaiting a reply. Just putting this out there for anyone else having trouble. We're very good with tech, code and build our own sites so it's not like we're confused lol.
My Chase account number didn't work until I used the one printed on my paper statement. It starts with more zeros than the "full account number" I was given when I logged into their website. The one on my statement has a whopping 15 digits... but it worked.
I have 4 shops all with the same Chase bank account for deposits. I had no issues verifying 3 of them but this shop kept getting the same error you are getting. Etsy live chat support told me to add 6 zeros to the beginning of the account number when I tried again. It made zero sense to me why I would need to add it to just this shop when entering the number but it worked. My theory is that it's a backend coding issue with how etsy has things set up on their end for shops opened at a set time period but that's just my guess.
Others who were having the same issue have had success with adding 6 zeros or 5 zeros to the beginning of the account number too. Maybe worth a try while you wait for support to reply.
@GielDesigns @WitticismsRus We already tried that as well. 6 zeros leading as shown on the bank statement. 000000123456789. Doesn't work either.
Have you tried 5 zeros? That has worked for some that the 6 didnt work for.
Yes, 5, 4, 3 2 and 1
Have you had any success? I'm having difficulty as well
They replied once to our case with some canned help page information on changing bank account and such, but no, they haven't helped us at all.
You can't change the bank account while the verification message is showing.
We tried numerous times more and same thing.
We're setup with several banking accounts, each one dedicated to specific marketplaces and one for our dot com sites. There is only one account ending in the 4 digits and that account is dedicated for Etsy and Walmart sales.
We entered the exact account number shown on our Chase login and checks. We entered the exact account number with leading zero's from our bank statement as well. Nothing works.
ACH deposits were successful, so clearly the account is correct on file and it that account.
What is happening with Plaid verification is on their end. They need to fix whatever it is.
Update: Etsy support removed bank and a Verify Bank with plaid notification shows up on dashboard. We click the button and it disappears with nothing loading. So here we are in November with no bank account attached now.
