Item marked as missing tracking info when I selected Physical Delivery

I had a local order I delivered by hand about an hour after it was purchased.  For whatever reason, it is marked as not having tracking info and is affecting my Star Selling % for on-time shipping and tracking.  I would like to resolve this somehow.

Will local pickup orders be part of my evaluation for a Star Seller badge?

All physical listing orders must include a valid tracking number or a shipping label purchased on Etsy to be considered for a Star Seller badge. At this time, we’re unable to make exceptions for local pickup orders.

This also applies to delivery orders.

Hello @LorisLittleJewels,

 

As of the moment, tracking metrics don’t account for local pickup or delivery. We don't support local pick-up or locally delivered orders, therefore, this would impact your Star Seller tracking & on-time shipping score.

 

We recognize this is a pain point for sellers who use local pick-up and delivery. While we’re always delighted to hear that our buyers and sellers want to form connections (IRL or otherwise), we don’t currently support local pickup/delivery. That’s not to say you can’t offer local pickup/delivery, it’s just that when you communicate with buyers off-site, without using Etsy tools (Messages, Etsy shipping labels, tracking), it might make it harder, or even impossible, for us to mediate any order issues or disputes.

In the meantime, please know that Etsy understands that Star Seller may not be viable for every shop. Star Seller is not a disciplinary program and sellers will not be penalized for low scores.

 

Additionally, prior to posting in a thread in the Forums, we ask that you please check if you are not bumping an old thread that hasn't seen any activity in a few months (or years, even). If that is the case, and you still would like to share your thoughts and get the conversation going - whether about this or similar topics, we ask that you start your own thread instead of bumping an old one.

Star seller is not set up to give you credit when you hand deliver an order. I'm sorry there is no way to resolve this. 

Some sellers have mentioned sending a thank you for the order with an Etsy label, with a tracking number but I don't know if you can do it after the fact, if it isn't in your dispatch time frame.

Hand deliveries are outside the SS criteria. They have no tracking as they are not shipped. Etsy will not fix it.  In the future you COULD send a receipt via Etsy labels First Class letter rate as the criteria are tracking OR Etsy label but doing so now would only show you shipped late..which is worse. Also doing that you take the chance of the customer opening a case for non delivery as "I bought a "dresser" but all they shipped was a letter". You have no proof of delivery and they could get a full refund. My opinion is either keep hand delivering and risking cases  and saying the heck with the SS program. OR ship everything. Etsy wants you to ship as they want their % of the shipping and the label if possible.

Same thing happened to me. Etsy penalizes you if you don't use their shipping.

No, you do not have to use their shipping. You just have to use shipping that is tracked, and remember to enter the tracking number correctly before the ship-by date. I've used Pirateship for plenty of orders and never had an issue. Hand delivering an item is different, and clearly spelled out that it doesn't qualify.

That is not true.  It's an etsy forums myth.  I have never bought an etsy label and have never been penalized for it.

What I meant was that the same thing happened to me as in the original post.  I hand delivered an item and therefore could not add tracking and my star seller status for shipping dropped.  But I didn't know that you could use other shipping methods, thanks for the info!
