Is this for real or is it some sort of scam?

I just opened my Etsy store and while listing my first items tonight I received a message that says it is from support and has the Etsy logo. It says, "We are currently experiencing technical issues with our servers, including the app, so you are not receiving notifications of new orders for your product. You will need to enter your email address in this chat so we can send you a personalized order confirmation form
Sincerely, Etsy Support". It has a link to one of my listings. Is this for real or is it some sort of scam? I can't find any information that Etsy is currently having technical issues and Etsy already knows my email address.

@MarjorysMinatures I would advise that this particular one is a newer version of the "Scam". I have been getting these for several weeks now and this one is very different and much more likely to deceive unsuspecting / newer Sellers

It is obviously sent through Etsy Messaging but it "clones" Support, including the Avatar/Symbol and the wording is much more "believable" It also appears in Messages with the Etsy Support Avatar/Symbol etc.

(Mine was "redacted" see following Post)

It's a big ol' scam, one that's been hitting a lot of new (and old) shops.  Put it in spam.

Total scam. Mark the message as scam and don't reply or give out any info. There is a really good thread in the forums about, just don't know what it's called!

I have received the exact same message in my email, word for word including the "Logo".

When I went to Shop Manager to double check the "contents" of the message had been removed / replaced with "Redacted by Etsy Security at 8 Aug XXXXXX (Day, Date, Time)

I have "spammed" this message because, in my experience, Etsy removes entire Messages if they are deemed to be "fraudulent". I have never seen the contents of the Messagge changed in this way.

Interestingly, the email still contains the original contents and the Etsy Message is still in my "Spam" folder.

I have contacted Etsy to ask about the strange action (redacting contents but not removing the Message)

Just a FYI, the two newest "scam" attempts reported in Forums today are emails from "Support" sent to new Shops with no Orders

1) You must put $ 200 in your CC/Bank before we can activate Payments (I believe this Seller had already provided information to fake "Support" via a "link")

2) You need to load an AMEX Card with $ 500 and send us a screenshot of the front and reverse of the card

Etsy Payments DOES NOT work in this way.

Since it's an old scam isn't it time Etsy deployed a bot to intercept and auto block these messages to protect sellers or am I expecting too much?

Hello, i had a lot off people, they said: i will buy your item,please give me your emailadress. I receive from Etsy support the answer that you never must give your emailadress! It is for me a real problem, more than seven times this week and no buyers. It make me very sad( I changes my pass word and have the two staps verification)
