Is the Etsy App a joke?

I finally broke down and put the Etsy App on my new iPhone.  Once I signed in, I found all my current data - listings, sales, reviews, etc. But when I had a sale this morning (that I found while browsing on my computer) I went to my phone to see how it looked on the app. 

And you know what - it didn't show the sale whatsoever! I reloaded the app a couple of times, thinking it might have a slight delay... nada. Nothing. 

Is the app always undependable like this? Seems silly to have it on my phone, if it's not going to give me the most current status of my shop. 

Or does it usually take a few minutes for a new sale to show up on the app? I'm pretty confused, but I do know one thing - I'll probably delete the app!

The app works fine for me and they continue to improve it.

It's like the new listing tool, I think part of the issue is people waiting until the last minute to try and learn the new interface, which of course makes any glitches even more confusing and frustrating. Or not giving it enough of a chance.

Is it really that important that a sale appear instantly?

Yes, sometimes it is important to know instantly. If I'm running to the PO and can include a last minute sale, it saves me gas and energy. I always check my sales right before I head out to the PO.

I get that. How long are the delays for you? I haven't experienced more than a few minutes at most.

Android user here.  Orders always show on the phone.  Best part is the cha-ching.

I usually get the cha-ching app notification of a sale before I see the sale on my computer and haven't had a lag.  I check my shop multiple times a day using a browser and just have the app for the cha-ching.  Apps don't have the same functionality as an actual site.

Yes, there can be a delay, but for the most part, the Seller app works quite well, for me.  I got a sale this morning, and heard the cha-ching first, went to check (because I cross list on other venues, and manage the inventory manually) - I did not see a number on the app, and nothing on the dashboard / main screen for "news and activity" - but it showed under the orders.

I wonder if this is affected by each user's "background refresh" app settings on their phone?  Some people have these on, some off to save battery  etc.
