Hello,
I am driving myself crazy trying to find actual help on Etsy via phone or at least a live chat and I cannot find a way so here it goes. I have an order that I have to ship out to Germany. I printed the shipping label through Etsy and its a first class. I dont want to just leave it there with USPS and then it not get delivered. USPS said they have never seen a first class label for it to be international and that I should pay an extra $16 for a customs form. I am not paying an extra $16 when the customer already paid $15 for the shipping fee on Etsy. I also added the ETSY IOSS number and the value of the package on the label. The label also send the package to an Export Processing Facility Instead of the Germany address directly. What exactly should I do or what does that mean?
Etsy uses something called Global Postal for international shipments from the USA to international countries.
It goes to a processing center in the US, hence the domestic label you received. Once there, they (Ascendia) print the ongoing international address label and customs form.
You just post it as normal.

Thank you! that was so confusing that it prints the processing facility address and not the customers German address.
On the label going to the processing plant, do you see your customer's name and I think country in little tiny letters? That's what they use to relabel it as CappuccinoLace wrote.
