International Orders not updating properly

International orders do not update when dropped off at the post office and tracking is updating.  It seems to only update when it leaves the processing facility.  This is not a good system as it still shows in filters for pre transit and leads customer to believe you have not shipped the product even though it is in transit.  

Is this not working? or is this working as designed.  

If it is working as designed I would highly suggest changing this.

This also affects our financials - international orders tend to be more expensive and even though something is in transit we do not see the money if our shop is still dealing with the money hold from etsy.

Etsy tracking in the dashboard is not one of the most reliable.

When I post international or even national the tracking does not always update to transit or even to delivered on Etsy, thankfully the postal system also sends the customer a email with confirmation that the parcel has been received by them and includes an up to date tracking. Is this not possible with USPS?

@DeadlyStudios  - If you are using Etsy labels to ship internationally, you are probably using their Global SHipping program, which uses Ascendia as a middle man so to speak.

This includes how the tracking works once the package leaves the Ascendia facility, since that is where the package is relabeled, customs forms added etc. 

Reserves on newer shops has become the norm. You'd think that once the package is scanned as being sent to the nearest Ascendia facility, that would help release your funds, but this may not happen.

yeah that is what I was trying to get at they should be accepting it and status changing it once its on its way to unrelia....I mean ascendia

I am sorry that the global shipping doesn't always update but I have had good luck going directly to Ascendia with the label customs ID number, down farther on the order, not the USPS number.
