Information for ship label does not match shipping profile

Jump to solution

I have 14 listings that use the same calculated shipping profile.  However the information when generating a shipping labels is incorrect.  Of the 14 listings there are four different box lengths used but with the same width and thickness and various weights.  An example. On one item that is 15" long, the box as shown in the listing is 17" x 8" x 6" with a weight of 1lb 15oz. and set to calculated shipping.   When purchasing the label, the weight is correct but the box shows 24" x 10" x 6".  This size triggers the UPS $4 oversize charge.  I cannot find where to correct this.  Out of 70+ listings, this only happens on this one shipping profile.  How do I correct this?

@GTHENRY  - Check Etsy's "automatically included" package sizes & your package preference sizes.
For you item that you have entered as 17" x 8" x 6" & weighs 1 lb, 15 ounces (2 pounds) Etsy is probably placing it in the 24" box because that is what you have as the available size.

There may be dimensional weight in play here, so you could check that.

Why it happens on just this shipping profile is possibly you use this profile - say you have parcel select enabled - on you larger/longer items?

Check your package preference area?  Make sure length width and height are correct.

The item when entered should be the longest side first, next the 2nd longest and height is the last and the smallest number.   It does not matter which way the item is oriented,

And with calculated shipping there is only one profile.  If you are using a mixture of calculated and fixed with different profiles that can eventually cause cost issues.

The requirement in listings is for the item dimensions, not the box.  If you are using box dimensions in the listing, CS will look for the next largest size in boxes.

The dimnsions of the item in your example should be 15 x 7 x 5 for the item to fit in a box 17 inches long.  The item size has to be smaller than the box you want used.
