Is it possible to make a targeted coupon/sale item?

I would like to issue a coupon to people who have abandoned a cart or favorited an item, but only on a few, specific items that I sell.  I don't want to put it on all items because my margins are fairly thin and if I gave a 10% coupon on everything, I would lose money on a some of them.

Is there a way to do this?  I thought there was a way to make targeted sales, but I can't find it anymore.

Thanks much,

Wolff

Hi, I've never done coupons or sales, but found this in Help.  Hope it's what you need.

Re: Is it possible to make a targeted coupon/sale item?

Etsy's fave and abandoned cart coupons automatically include all items in your shop.  The only thing you have control over is % off and duration.  You can set up general coupons and sales for specific items with the sales and discounts tool.  If you want to choose items, do not set a minimum of either quantity or amount.  Conditional sales and coupons automatically include everything.

@BlueHeelerForge: The abandoned cart and favorites coupons are an all or nothing proposition - all your listings with no time limit on the coupon and I believe no limitation on how many times it can be used by the same person. You can do targeted sales (specific listings) only if there are no conditions such as minimum order or quantity.

How do you do a targeted sale?

@BlueHeelerForge

If by targeted you mean a sale or discount on specific items as opposed to everything in your shop then you go to shop manager > marketing > sales and discounts.  Choose whether you want a sale or a coupon.  Fill out the form but DO NOT set a minimum.  When you have finished filling out the page and click continue on that next page you will be able to choose which items you want to include.

You cannot set a minimum, because that makes it a conditional sale and all items are then automatically included.

@BlueHeelerForge: From the Sales and discounts page select <Run a sale>. On that page make sure for order minimum "None" is selected. When you click on <Continue> you will be able to choose which sections or listings are to be  included in the sale.

Re: Is it possible to make a targeted coupon/sale item?

Hi,
When I click on continue, I see a "Included Listings Whole Shop" category but there isn't a way to click on that to change it to one item. Any other advice on how to get that done? I realize it's been almost a year since this discussion here. Thank you!

@camplus: Using a browser, at least, if you select 'None' for Order Minimum (required to be able to select individual listings), then when you <Continue> there should be radio buttons for 'All Listings' and 'Select Listings' on that page.
