This week alone i have had three 4star reviews and each time the customers have been really annoyed as they are using the App and they wanted to leave 5 stars and still couldn't, this has been going on for a very long time and i think its about time Etsy sorted this out, especially as its hurting the shops out there who are trying to get the Star Sellers Badge.

@daisysjewellerygifts As I understand it the problem can’t be fixed from Etsy’s end. The buyers are leaving reviews from apps that need to be updated. Only the buyer can update their app. Etsy an not update it for them. That is why this will always be an issue.
This is an equal opportunity issue for all of us sellers.

I always leave reviews using the buyer's app with no problems.

your lucky then, my customers cant seem to get past the 4 stars, so there must be a problem for just some then.

Maybe they don't have an up to date version of the app. I always keep mine updated.

It's not the app as such as I've used it to leave 5* it's probably the buyers not updating.
Or an old phone that doesn't support the newer version.
ETA they don't need to use the app, they can use the desk top version on their phone.

None of my customers have reported this issue. I don’t think it’s Etsy’s problem.

While it is frustrating to get low stars, it's not always Etsy's fault why the buyer can't give a full 5-star on their device ... it's completely dependent upon the device (pc or mobile), device model version, it's age, app version, etc. Device UPDATES are a must, but even with the most up to date updates, some older devices just won't ever have the 5 star capability due to these restriction variables. When this happens, it's time to UPGRADE the device to a newer model so it's compatible with the newer app versions.

It's the buyer who hasn't updated their app.
Everything isn't Etsy's fault, although there is a lot of crud.
This one isn't one of them.
