Hello.
Just had a very bad experience because I did not pay attention. I received a message in my inbox from a username Jesslyn Reis:
Dear Seller,
There is a problem with your bank details.
One of your products was sold, but when we tried to transfer the amount
for the product, we encountered an error on the bank's side.
To solve this problem, you need to go through a small verification procedure
for your card. You can use the link below to go to the verification page.
You will need your main bank card to which you want
to transfer funds.
link - I delete the link
During the verification process, our support staff will help you
in the chat, thank you for your understanding.
Unfortunately I clicked the link and got me to a page where it said that my etsy store was suspended and I need to verify my card. Next there were another few steps where they ask how much money I have on my card and the limit of my card. Anyway, I lost 3000 DKK. The transaction goes to finchpay, a website based in Lithuania dealing in crypto exchange. Now I sent them an email, hope they will answer. I plan also to contact the Lithuanian Authorities.
Hello,

You need to contact your bank. Also, for the future, any message from Etsy will be in the Etsy folder. Sorry this happened to you.
Call you bank asap and have your card blocked, they may have a scam protection in place so ask them about it.
Never clock on any links in messenger, they could be from anyone.
Also when anyone makes claims about your shop, check you dashboard and shop front on Etsy, this will show you these claims are false.
Etsy puts this under every single message
To stay protected, stay on Etsy. Never follow links to other sites, and don’t share contact, account, or financial info with anyone in Messages. Learn how to spot spam.
....
You need to contact your bank ASAP, cancel your card, and report fraud. They are the only ones that can help you.
Etsy never validates cards, they only validate bank accounts,
and to do that, they pay money in, they don't need a balance in your bank account, or a verification code from you, to withdraw money

I've had nothing but spam messages. How is it possible that every query is spam? Is etsy even worth the trouble considering this ?
@BissEarrings your shop is unfinished + you have trademark infringing items = it does not look like you know what you are doing = a perfect target for scammers.
read the etsy seller handbook (link at the top of this page) and remove the ford & chevy items unless you have a license to produce those items from the trademark holders.
I also received this message today and thank God I read your message. Thank you.
Never clink on the links.
Sorry, call your Bank.
Best of luck.
@BissEarrings It sounds like you are being bombarded by scammers; I'm sorry about that. I also wonder if you by chance are using the App. Scammers tend to target new Sellers, often appearing within seconds after someone lists an item/s. I have been seeing an increase of new Sellers coming to the Forum lately; some are being bombarded with Messages from scammers. You don't expect to start fresh on a site, and immediately get hit with this garbage. And as a new Seller, I can see where you could be caught by it; it could happen to anyone.
Many scammers are posing as "Buyers", stating they need your email for an Order. They don't, Etsy already has it. They are trying to get you to input your banking info, so they can steal from you. When you receive a LEGIT Order, it will appear in "Orders & Shipping" (Left Column of Shop Dashboard); if it isn't there, you have no Order. Mark the scammer's Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller). And never click on links or engage with them.
"Verification" is a popular scam, as well as posing as Etsy Staff/Support, etc. Scanning of QR Codes is another. When you receive a LEGIT Message from Etsy Support/Staff, etc., it will appear in the "From Etsy" Folder (in Messages). If it isn't there, Mark the Message as Spam (so you don't get dinged for S Seller).

Hope this is helpful to you, and may this garbage cease for you and for others. Best Wishes to you.
Thankyou, what you describe is exactly it. Thankyou for your clear and sympathetic feedback, much appreciated.
Scammers tend to target new shops.

If you receive an actual order, you will see it in your "Orders and Shipping" section and you will receive an email from Etsy notifying you that you have a sale, and there will be a notification in your dashboard as well.
