Hello
My score was 96% for response rate and 4.8 for review rate by 30th of June. I am selling 100% digital items, so there is no shipping rating for me.
However I didn't get the badge of star seller. I have contacted ETSY via chat. The lady thinks that this is a technical issue but she can't solve it and asked me to post on this forum. Could anyone please help?
Many thanks.
Christine
Could anyone please help?
Nope, just us sellers here.
Double check your review rate by doing the math yourself. You might be below 4.8, but rounding might show the rate as 4.8. The algorithm for assigning the badge doesn’t round up, but the display does, understandingly causing confusion and disappointment.
Also, make sure you met the minimum sales criteria.
Others have posted the same thing, but didn't get it because of something technical and Etsy rep said they don't have the ability to fix.
Did you have 10 orders and make the minimum $300? If not, you won’t be awarded any badges nor a purple star. Note: from July 1 the order minimum changes from 10 to 5 orders needed in the three month period. Try reading this…it explains all of the criteria:

Hi! I have the same issue and just spoke to Etsy support - they couldn't figure out why I don't have the badge, and escalated to the tech support team. I think there might be a tech issue with the changes they're rolling out this month....
@HoneywildApothecary looking at your shop, you are missing the feedback badge, and looking at your reviews there are a few less-than 5 star ones.
No mystery.
@PillowDetails actually IS a mystery. I get a lot of reviews - my calculations have me at 4.802.....Will report back if I actually get any good info from Etsy support
I count 72 reviews in period.
65 are 5 star = 325
3 are 4 star = 12
1 1 star, 1 3 star and 2 2 star = 8
325 + 12 + 8 = 345 / 72 = 4.7916

you have 72 reviews, totalling 343 stars,
that's 4.76
so you are under the 4.8....... on the dashboard, etsy appears to be rounding it up to 4.8, but the actual calculation that counts, is not rounding up
65x5
3x4
1x3
2x2
1x1
345/72 = 4.79
@CraftyCornishMaids @CappuccinoLace Haha so many different calculations! Will report back what Etsy tells me.
my numbers, and CappuccinoLace numbers are the same
.... edit to add - well they would be, if my fingers worked, the bottom bit is correct
crafty mistyped and changed the bottom part of her post, but not the top.
You have a 4.79 rating.
@CappuccinoLace @CraftyCornishMaids Thanks for running numbers! Yup definitely leaning toward star seller just being not worth pursuing. Can't help it if a Karen has never used a natural skincare product before!
@CraftyCornishMaids @CappuccinoLace @PillowDetails Reporting back: Heard back from support. Etsy fixed the issue and restored my Star Seller status! Perhaps they *are* rounding up on that last 10th? Or just realized their dashboard and seller badge algorithm weren't talking to each other? Either way - just FYI!
It would be nice to think they got the two programmers, who programmed the two different calculation "roundings" , and "sorted" them out
here's hoping the left hand, and right hand , eventually figure out what each other are doing!
You have two 1-star reviews, three 2-star reviews and three 4-star reviews in the 3 month review period. I would guess that's the problem.
IMO I would be more focused on the quality issue that seems to be a common complaint. Star Seller doesn't do anything for a shop.
Hey! I'm aware of those reviews - unfortunately being a seller in the natural skincare world means that there will be negative reviews no matter how high quality our products are. We get enough 5 star reviews that a few below 5 shouldn't affect our rating too much. My main issue is why Etsy is saying that we achieved the badge without actually putting it on our shop. I am starting to wonder if it's even worth pursuing with Etsy anymore tho. Seems like more trouble than it's worth!
wrong place
You have several reviews which will lower the review rating below the requirement which for July was the old metric for April, May June. The math is not my strong point but you may need so many 5 star to pring your review rating up.
April falls off so not it is May June July for August and it will include the 4.8 rating. It doesn't apply for the previous period I beleive which is for July.
