What is going on? I created an etsy account to sell on, it got suspended. I appealed, the emailed me back immediately saying that they will not reinstate it no matter what. They gave me no reason why. I then tried to create a new one, suspended before I could even create a listing. What can I do? How can I list on etsy? This is infuriating and im hopeless. How am I supposed to not get suspended when they wont give me any freaking reason? I just want to list on here.
What were you selling?
I listed a mock up just as a place holder because they made me create a listing when opening the shop. I didnt have anything to sell yet. I'm planning on doing POD. I tried to open a new seller account with a different email then and got banned right away as well. Before I could even create the first listing.
I also have another etsy shop and was creating a new one. My etsy shop that is open and functional, everything is fine there.
What do you sell in your other shop?
My other shop sells 3D prints I make
There is no point trying to open new shops because they will just be suspended as the first has been shut down. If Etsy has decided they will not let you sell, the only thing you can do is appeal. We can’t help.
thats so crazy to me. they wont even let me know why they came to this conclusion. I thought maybe I will just list on my current shop? but then I fear getting that shut down as well now. awful support. they really did just show me I cannot trust them at ALL. I may just stick to ebay and shopify.
how were you able to appeal.
when you had no idea what you were actually appealing?
Thats exacly what I said in the appeal lol. They were asking me questions like what would you do differently? im like man idk, you havent given me ANYTHING. so infuriating.
Looks like they have changed the way they will allow people to create stores, there is something def going on lately with sales as well.
@Cre8iveCanvasCo You created a mockup which Etsy must have seen as not an actual item going to be sold. Did you include wording to such an affect. Also if you sell anything similar in your other shop, you cannot create a second shop. So are the 3d in the other shop completely different than what you wanted to sell in the new shop.
When a shop is set up, Etsy expects the seller to have items ready to sell once the shop is completed and open.
I think you may have fallen to a BOT set up to look for certain things.
What country are you in?
Do you have any outstanding bills on your active shop?
I live in US. have an existing store already. gave them my banking information also. it was a new store. they even had my social.
@Cre8iveCanvasCo okay, I just wanted to check you weren't in a country which is not currently eligible for Etsy Payments. They've been closing new shops immediately even if the seller has another older active shop.
This often happens with new shops. If you didn't create a real listing and connect your POD supplier, then that right away would raise red flags for the bots. You need to explain why you did that in your appeal.
The fact that your original shop hasn't yet been suspended is a good sign; someone might still get around to looking at this.
I hope they dont look at my original shop. I found an old one and just reopened it. I will use that one. Maybe I created too many? idk, they wont tell me a dang thing. I also didnt inform them i was going to do POD. They force you to create a listing to start, and you cant even connect your POD right away.
@Cre8iveCanvasCo there is no limit on shops. Usually when one shop is closed permanently, all shops are, so this is a good sign right now for you. It's likely just a bot. (Remember you must mention all accounts you have in each account)
"I listed a mock up just as a place holder" - you cannot do that; everything has to be a real listing for sale, per Etsy rules. If you used a mock up from a known POD company but didn't mention or connect them, that right there would get you suspended.
I'd submit a proper appeal once you fully understand the issues, and then you have no choice but to wait.
I submitted an appeal and they instantly came back and denied it and said they couldnt reinstate it. I also reopened an old store and they just suspended that also. I fear they will suspend my one and only main account that is active and I have sales. My only option is to sell there now. I am hopeless and no clue what to even do.
@Cre8iveCanvasCo "I submitted an appeal and they instantly came back and denied it and said they couldnt reinstate it." They often say that yet still reinstate shops later.
Unless your appeal addressed the reasons you were suspended, it was a waste of time to hit send. If you write to them addressing those issues in a proper appeal the way they want, they may reconsider.
In addition to the things I raised, other possible issues are ID that doesn't match your name exactly, your bank, info and your chosen location. The fact you have an existing shop won't necessary cover those.
There could be several reasons for this which we here in the forums will not know. Some of the reasons I can think of when newer shops have been shut down: Financial information not matching a residing area, tax information errors (not necessarily the sellers), illegal items being sold, a lack of transparency, bots wrongfully assuming an illegal item is being sold, not following Etsy rules or banking information not transferring correctly or looking suspicious (not necessarily the sellers fault).
I understand this. They fired back on the appeal IMMEDIATELY and said nope, not able to reinstate it. without asking or talking to me about anything. I have sent them an email about it.
