I am not getting any help from Etsy and my shop is forcefully put on vacation.

Jump to solution

Etsy put my shop on vacation, and I was told that some documents are required to verify my identity, because my current one is not sufficient. So, I re-submit them, then I was told I also have to verify my address. I have some concerns on whether my new documents are good enough, so I sent an email to them, but in return I just received the same email with the same content (telling me that I have to submit documents to verify my payment account).

After a day, I gave it a try and submitted those documents anyway. Surprisingly, I received another email with exact same content. Therefore, I have once again sent them an email in case my last one was buried under all the other emails they have received. A while later, another same email.

As replying directly to their Trust & Safety Team did not work, so I went to the Help centre. Yet, no live chat, and no actual help from those articles. So, I sent an email through Help centre to address my questions and again, the same email with the same content! That's scary! No matter what channel I tried to contact them, all I get is the same thing!

I have no clue how to solve this. It has been days waiting for something different to happen, something other than the same email content. Once I stopped sending them email, they have stopped sending me the same emails again. I am beyond frustrated and confused.

Where can I seek help? I cannot find phone numbers, I cannot find live chat (I have tried to check on the Help centre at different times - morning, afternoon or night) but nowhere to find the chat option. I have already tried the email, but nothing happened. I have just realised how hard it is to even find a way to contact them, even for emails, it was so hard to get a way to send them an email.

I am new to this platform, and things kept happening when I got my first sale. They only inform me that I have to do something/ something isn't good enough after I got my first order. This is really frustrating.

I kept replying to the same email and got someone answered my questions eventually, and my payment account is verified in a few days after that. This is solved! Thanks for the replies

@CheescatStudio  :  The first sale often triggers a check of a shop. Every eMail from Etsy support will have a link something like "I Still Need Help". Click on that link in each reply from Etsy (or actually reply stating that you still need help) to keep the report alive. You may have to do this innumerable times, before anything is done but do not give up. DO NOT open a new issue or contact Etsy multiple times about the same issue (doing so closes the one you already opened and puts the new one on the bottom of the pile). Do not expect immediate resolution.

There is no phone number for Etsy although in some cases the help pages will offer you a call back.

Did you use Contact us or an email Etsy sent you?  Respond to the email that you still need help with this.

If the email is not monitored then you need to use Contact us (shop manager).  Use the support button on any article if you prefer.  Select selling.  Select appropriate link and look for 'I stll need help'.  That will get you email.

You say you are a fulltime student.  Over 18 or younger?  If under 18, you cannot have a shop unless parents or guardian are involved.

Chat and phone cannot help.  If you used an email that started with trust and safety those emails are no longer valid.

You need to use Contact us to send an email or respond to an email from Etsy.

Thanks for your reply. I am a university student and over 18.

So, it is no use to reply to the emails from Trust and Safety? I have sent Etsy emails through the "I still need help". But they still keep sending me the same email content about uploading certain documents. They didn't tell me what is wrong with mine or answer my questions.

Should I keep sending them email through replying the current one or start a new one? Since the first reply from BagMakerSupply said the case will be closed if I send another email through "I still need help" (in the Help Centre website).

It’s very frustrating to me trying to contact Etsy. When they had the customer service call center.. it was lovely. You could talk to a live person and your problem was solved that day at that minute. Now you are told to go to the help center, other sellers, and to send emails to get help to problems that needs addressing ASAP. I feel your frustration as well as hundreds of thousands of more sellers.

@SugarBoogerCakeDecor(post crafter)  and JennysCelticFibres (inspiration seeker):  There should be NO frustration contacting Etsy! And you can talk to a "live person" via the call back feature if Chat Support cannot help you. For call backs on the Weekdays one way is to go through your Shop Manager>Community & Help>Contact Us>Selling on Etsy. (if none of the drop downs help, scroll down further until you see>I Still Need Help>...)

Call backs are 7a.m. to 9pm Eastern time. If you're not seeing "email us", "chat" or "call back" you may be trying on the weekends or before 7 a.m. or after 9 p.m.

You can also go to the Help Center above under "Help"... I Still Need Help.

The forums are monitored by Community Specialists so it is possible when you post your technical problem it will get solved.
