The switch to old view has moved to the top of the form ... glad I found it. I really like the old form better. It's in white letters in a blue information box.
They've inserted information into the new form that looks like it's for new sellers ... like what can be sold on Etsy. This information is in blue boxes. But for sellers who have been listing for a long time, it just means more scrolling.
And the new form requires more keystrokes. For example, when adding variations, in the new form you enter the variation into a field which populates the field below. You have to move down to the field below to add the variation. In the old form, you could enter the variation into a field and click enter. When adding lots of variations, the new form is very inefficient.
Also in the old form, the Tarriff number field has a drop down that shows the recent tarriff numbers used and you can select from that. My items use one of two tarriff numbers so it's very efficient to select which one. The new form has the tarriff number field with a place to search for Tarriff numbers (handy if you don't already know the correct tarriff number) but not the option to select the tarriff numbers already used by the shop.
So I think that Etsy has made the new form for new or newish sellers. That makes sense but it's at the expense of experienced sellers. I'd like to see a very compact form with options to see more information - for new sellers. Or conversely, a form with key information - like what can be sold on Etsy but an option to turn off the extra information for experienced sellers which would make the form more compact and less busy.
