New seller

Just set up my shop on Etsy. I've had two emails from Etsy asking for my email address. But when I enter my email and hit send. The message will not send. Also my buyers can't purchase my products even tho I have verified my email address. Why is this happening. I've contacted support but they take uoto 3 days and im already receiving messages from customers that can't buy my goods

" I've had two emails from Etsy asking for my email address"

The messages are scams, Etsy already know your email address.

Don't reply, mark the messages as spam.

"But when I enter my email and hit send. The message will not send"

because Etsy have shut down the scammer's account.

"Also my buyers can't purchase my products even tho I have verified my email address. Why is this happening. I've contacted support but they take uoto 3 days and im already receiving messages from customers that can't buy my goods"

Buyers can purchase from your shop, the messages are fakes to get your email address, then scammers can send you the next stage of their scam. They send an email claiming to be from Etsy, with a link to a fake Etsy website page requiring you to input your card details and pay a fee to verify your account. They then use the card details to empty your bank account.

Re: New seller

@JLK9Collars: If the message is something like "User Name is Invalid" that means that the account has been closed (either by the user or by Etsy). Just in case, you should make sure to mark the message as SPAM (at last report you cannot do that using the seller app only a browser, even your mobile browser, or the buyer app).

Real messages from Etsy are now going into their own section on your messages page https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899
