Hi Etsy Why is My Price Changing on Its own ?

It's been almost 2weeks nearly after the new etsy platform update, my price are lowering automatically.

10 days back a product sold at actual amount $157 today the same item got lower it price to $108 and got sold.

$49 Dollar Loss + they charged 15% Offsite add fee + they accepted promotion code.

 Now in the over all transaction I am at a net loss of almost 60$ as i have air courier the parcel from my office.

I thought I was the only one whose prices mysteriously were changing by an Etsy ghost- but I'm sorry they lowered your prices. I am grateful you mentioned it because I thought I was hallucinating...  but in my case someone bought one of the items and they were charged the original price.

If I were in your situation I would cancel the transaction and ask the buyer to perhaps repurchase it at your original price  - because I don't think that is fair to you.  Just my 2 cents and support that prices are randomly changing by an unknown entity. Hope everything works out!

I had this happen one time and etsy increased the price. The item did not sell at a higher price. If I recall I edited the listing and the price went back to the original price it was listed at. There were forum threads in the past on the price fluctuation.  Not sure if it was an Etsy test.

I wouldn't think it would be a test, as changing prices without telling the shop owner doesn't sound entirely legal ?

 Perhaps yet another Etsy glitch, but certainly it can't be a test...can it?

This happens to me randomly a lot.  It is super annoying.  Some of my listing will revert back to prices that I haven't had them listed at for 5 years or so.  I try to be diligent and catch it but sometimes I only catch it when the item has sold at the lower price and then renews.

I have no idea why this happens and why it happens so randomly.  Also some of the listings will be missing pictures that should be there.  I think they are somehow reverting back to the way it was listing at some point in the past.

The one time I contacted etsy about it, they basically said it was user error.  I was like ummmmmmm no it's not.  So now I just try to fix it when I see it happen even though I shouldn't have to do that.

I just noticed the same. I had listed ebooks at $7 then edited the book and changed the price to $10. The listing says $10 in my seller dashboard, but when customers purchase it reverts to $7. I don't know if I should cancel the listing and remake it.

There are several threads all talking about this glitch (or intentional mess?) going on since Friday.

Many, many sellers affected by it, unable to make changed prices stick.

Not a peep out of admin which sort of supports the "intentional mess" theory.

I posted a couple of days ago, that when I go and copy and paste a listing to create a new one, which I do all the time, I noticed after ten minutes or so that the price was back to the price I had on the original listing, even though I changed it.  Same with the photos, some of them were completely gone.  I don't know what is going on but I would suggest to Etsy that they pay attention to these glitches which are pretty annoying at the least and can be financially awful to us little people if something sells at a too low price.  Just check your listings frequently to make sure all is correct.

Didn't I see something on Etsy fairly recently about "dynamic pricing" where if an item hasn't sold at its listed price after a period of time, the price then drops to a lower one.  Did we have to opt out/sign up?  Or did I dream it?  This pricing strategy happens on another website I am on with a different product but you are allowed to opt out.  I would have thought if Etsy was going to do this then shop owners would have to agree to it.

If it's my prices it the shipping fees and get changed and not by me. I have a design for 17.99 it shut up 30bucks, and shipping went 4.75 to 18.99.

Wierd I had a customer yesterday that messaged me saying the listing showed one price and noticed they were charged my normal price after checkout. I wonder if they actually saw a different price. It did end up selling at the correct price but I wonder if etsy is bait and switching hoping people dont notice or some sort of system glitch is happening.
