Hello,
I signed up for an Etsy shop a few days ago and posted my listing link on multiple social media platforms, friends, and family groups. A few hours ago, I got my first sale, and after that, my shop went on vacation mode, requesting identity verification. I initially submitted my driver's license (DL) front and back side in PDF format, but I received a notification to submit a valid government-issued DL.
Now, can I submit my passport, or should I resubmit my DL?
Please suggest.
Thank you.
I've heard of this before but haven't found anyone who can figure it out. If you solve it, please share it with us.
I was incredibly excited about my first sale. I immediately began working on delivering my first order, but then my shop went into vacation mode. However, I made a promise to my first buyer that I would dispatch their order within 18 hours.
I opened a ticket with Etsy customer support, and they informed me that currently, their system is not available for identity verification. I sent them my driver's license and ID, but now no one is replying.
You could open an account with Pirate Ship and link it to your Etsy shop. Then make a label for the order. Even if you are in vacation mode you should be able to see the order for the address if it doesn't come up on Pirate Ship.
Submit your passport instead. Etsy has two rounds of seller ID security and verification: once during the sign up process and a second crossmatch triggered by the seller's first sale. The name on all your credentials - bank account, Tax ID, passport, credit/debit card - must all match. Either the metrics on your DL didn't match for some reason or there was a glitch in the system. Either way, just try with your passport.
