Google Analytics GA4 Invalid Property ID

Hello all. I updated Google Analytics to GA4 but when I tried to enter the new GA4 Web Property ID in my Etsy Settings>Web Analytics section, it says "property ID invalid". Apparently I'm doing something wrong but don't know what. Or should I not be changing the UA number in settings??

I first added just the GA4 number replacing the UA number,  then I tried adding "GA4" with a dash (-) and then the number, but neither worked. My GA SetUp Assistant says I'm connected. 

Also, when I click "Home" on GA Analytics I see "No data received from your website yet. To start collecting data make sure your website is tagged using the Measurement ID (and then GA gave me a number).  

Can someone help?

I'm also trying to work on this. I entered the number with the GA4-xxxxxx stuff and it says it's accepted but it doesn't show my new number. It went right back to my old number. 

I came here just to see if anyone else is getting it to work. 

I have a link to a YouTube video, I guess I'll work on this later. I hope that this lets us go back to tracking visits to our homepage that Etsy took away several years ago.

I'm having the same issue. Google says I was successful and so I copied that number and put it into my settings on Etsy and it keeps reverting back to the old number. Wouldn't it be helpful if there was a phone number we could call or actually talk to somebody in the US instead of getting someone on chat overseas that has no idea what we are talking about? That would be really helpful.

I'm also struggling to make this work.  I added my GA4 property to Etsy and noticed that there was a note below that said if you just saved the GA4 property info it could take up to 24 hours before data actually starts to transfer.  I'm going to wait a little while and see if that's the case.

I just copied and pasted the number in and hit save.  It took 24 hours for the information to start flowing. 

I had signed up earlier.  Haven't a clue if the made it easier.

@ArtDollsbyJD  Mine isn't valid with just the numbers. I had to add the "G-" and the numbers. Strange how yours works one way and mine works the other.

Is there a setting to exclude myself from reports or realtime?  I had it set up in UA but can't find it in GA4.
