I've consistently had Star Seller status for some months now. I was suddenly dropped today and it says I need to keep going to earn the Speedy Reply badge. However I have a 100% response rate for the current review period as well as the previous review period.
I have the same problem and I'm mad. I have about 50 sales this month and all 5-star reviews except one is a 4 star. Not sure why she left me 4 instead of 5 because she said she loved it. But anyway, I ship the very next day. I respond to messages within hours, sometimes minutes. Where is my Star Seller status?!
Yeah, that happened to me too. Mine was also a positively worded 4 star, but because I only get a couple reviews a month it knocked me down from 5 to 4.8... which is frustrating in it's own right, but still shouldn't have affected my Star Seller status. On my dashboard the only badge I didn't earn this month was Speedy Response, but then it shows I have a 100% response rate - not just for this period, but for the previous period as well. So I just don't understand how I lost my Star Seller status today unless there was a glitch. My shipping and convo replies have all been consistently at 100% for the last several months, and my review rating only went down from 5 to a 4.8 from that one 4 star review in June. A 4.8 overall rating is still good enough for Star Seller and I earned that badge anyway.
@MadGirlRetro Looks like you are missing your review badge for the star seller
@MadGirlRetro: "... and all 5-star reviews except one is a 4 star ..." You also had 1-star reviews in May and April as well as several 4-star reviews. Using a browser, at least, if you click on the 'Average Review Rating' card it will show you breakdown by star count of the reviews used to calculate your score. Remember that the July 1st Star Seller was based on April, May, and June data.
I have had 3 stars and they say they love it…
I had a 3-star in June. Buyer says they love the item, its exquisite but the cost of shipping to Canada makes cross border buying too pricey.
Sigh.
I even refunded a significant amount on the shipping since I use Pirateship and the Simple Export Rate allowed me to save on shipping - I passed this on to the buyer (because I agree with them). I did that when I shipped.
I reported the review to Etsy since I have no control of international shipping prices.
Got an email that basically said they would remove the review from being publicly visible. So, no one can see it supposedly, but it still counts against me.
Sigh sigh sigh.
You need to earn the Rave Review Badge for Star Seller for the review period.
@TursiArt did you download your conversation stats? It's the only badge your missing, so maybe you missed one conversation?
I am here for that exact reason. Is there a glitch? I am super speedy and reply to everything very quickly unless its the middle of the night.
@DailyMel01: Have you checked the applicable CSV file available on your Customer Service page (previous period for July 1st badges and Star) to see which new incoming Message threads Etsy thinks were unanswered or answered late?
I'm wondering the same thing I was a Star Seller who suddenly lost my badge but I have an explanation, I was in vacation for 1 week. In my case, it's the only reason I could find.
today I lost my message response rate star and my on time dispatch star
and I'm 100% rating for those and have been for a while
I've experienced a similar issue and contacted Etsy Customer Support yesterday. They confirmed there's a system issue that their engineering team is currently working to resolve.
@BagmakerSupply well, that's weird because I have never NOT gotten Star Seller status since it was implemented, including in April and May, when I got 4 stars once or twice. The couple of 1 stars I have gotten in the 10 years I have been on Etsy (which I should say was a mistake on the customer's part) also didn't affect my Star Seller status. I have a 5/5 rating in item quality, shipping, and customer service. It's a glitch. I'm an excellent seller.
It's not a glitch. Add up the number of stars in the 3 month period and divide by the number of reviews. Your 1* and 4* reviews will bring the average below 4.8. It's basic maths.
I think its a glitch as my review rating should be 4 not 3.5
@MadGirlRetro The 10 years doesn't matter for star seller. Only last 3 months matter. You have way more than 2 4star reviews in the last 3 months, plus you have 1 star reviews as well. Only the last 3 months matter for the star seller.
You overall rating is good, so don't worry. Your customers can see all the 5 star reviews you got.
@Prerafdesigns In the last 3 months, which is the only thing that matters, you had only a handful of reviews and you got 2 star review and 4 star review. You need more reviews to bring that average up.
for star seller is only last 3 months, not all the reviews.
The 3 mini reviews, item quality, shipping and customer service have no bearing on anything. Lots of times they have no relation to the item sold and are not available for all reviews. Another case of Etsy imitating Amazon.
@DragonFireGlass if my 4 star review was on the 29th march is that included in the 3 month period
No...but the 2 star on May 6th does count.
The 3.5 you're seeing is probably for the current review period, which counts May, June and July. For that, you do currently have 3.5.
@Prerafdesigns no, March would not count for July star seller. You only got 3 reviews for the past 3 months and one of those was 2 stars. Unfortunately that counts. You would need way more 5 star reviews to make up for the 2 star
The nice thing is that the buyers only see the 5 stars first
@MadGirlRetro @TursiArt @Prerafdesigns Numbers do not lie. There is no glitch. Just do the math.
