I keep getting this message:
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
I don't know what it means. I'm not tech savvy at all.
All other parts of my shop seems ok though. Is it an Etsy issue, or something i'm doing wrong? I am working from my PC. Thanks in advance.
@DebbieCrochets: This is sometimes the result of too many cookies from one site. This is one case where clearing cookies and cache might actually help (but selectively clear Etsy cookies unless you want to have to login again).
Actually it's also happening when i try to click on messages too
I'm experiencing the exact same problem. Cannot access Shop Manager w/o getting 'Bad Request" response.
I have the same issue lately!
This is STILL going on.....I experienced & reported the issue this past week, along with several others. It's still happening. Etsy isn't acknowledging there is an issue on THEIR side. Several sellers, myself included, have tried different browsers and also clearing cache, cookies, etc....does NOT fix the issue.
The problem just happened for the first time for me last evening. And I still cannot access my shop manager today without getting this "Bad Request" error. I can access Etsy's home page - but even "search" is not working there. It too returns this same error. I am not having a problem with any other website except Etsy - so it's definitely a problem with THEIR server.
It seems the problem is getting worse. Now, nothing at all is working on Etsy's home page. A short while ago, I was able to at least click on listings there - but now even that returns a bad request error.
@MagicalMomentsShoppe: There have been quite a few posts in this forum that some "Bad Request" issues are caused by browser extensions - you might see if disabling them helps - Sale Samurai is one that is often mentioned as the culprit.
Thanks @BagmakerSupply. I'll try that. I don't have Sale Samurai installed, but perhaps it's one of the other ones. I've tried everything else - so fingers crossed this works! I appreciate the help.
This "Bad Request" sign has been happening to me also quite a bit over the past couple of months. It is frustrating when everything works fine on my laptop, but I can't access my Etsy shop. This problem needs to be fixed now!
Hello everyone, I also had the same problem for a few weeks, so I followed one of the advices found above, namely cleaning the cache and cookies (all cookies included connections to sites) then I restarted my pc and tadaaaa everything works for a few days. I hope this helps.
Over the past week Etsy has been randomly on my pc with Chrome not loading with “This site can’t be reached”
Now going on day 2 that it won’t load at all.
reset computer, cleared cache, and only 1 extension for my Rollo printer. EVERY other website loads perfectly fine.
Etsy info shows Not Secure so maybe that is causing the issue with my firewall, but it shows secure in Edge and Safari.
Maybe Etsy and Chrome broke up?
